And his assistant coaching opportunities were….? We have no idea. So now that he is out of a job, you know for sure he wouldn’t take a Siena assistant job (at probably much more than he got from the Patroons and St Rose)? "That said, Brown said he hasn't closed the door on returning to college coaching, whether it's a head coaching opportunity at any level or a "really unique and special" Division I assistant position. He said he turned down a Big East assistant offer right after UAlbany didn't bring him back following 20 seasons and five NCAA Tournament berth" www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Will-Brown-stays-with-Patroons-after-flirting-17417683.phpSo there you go, he said he would consider an assistant position. Maybe Siena is a ‘really unique and special’ opportunity…and I doubt schools are banging his door down.

I would be shocked if Murray interviews for any job while his team is in the middle of the NCAAs. .

Have a hard time believing teams are going to wait a month for a guy like Murray to interview, especially with the level of importance placed on the transfer portal. Need to move fast.

An initial meeting for 2 hours on a Monday won’t hurt UConns tourney chances. Not meeting with a guy of that caliber is a big mistake. Both parties might figure out after the first meeting, it’s not gonna work out. At least you got to the plate. And on the other hand a deal could be made and not announced until the Final Four. Who knows?

Proven recruiter and has been with Hurley for a long time. I think its worth a look!

UConn is a State school therefore compensation is made public through open payroll Ct . According to that website Murray’s 2023 salary was approx $482k. I’d assume Murray would be close to $500k by next year if escalators are build into any existing contract. His pay has increased annually.
He would need to looking at Siena like we think GMac may be, which would most likely involve a pay cut.
What do we think a reasonable salary is for year 1 for our next hire? Thoughts.

Rumors are Siena is going to set up a fund/collective to pay the next HC’s salary with the big boosters. If that’s correct maybe $500K for year 1. He wins and you bump him out moving forward.

With his father's income a HC job at a lesser but substantial salary may still be okay.
