He took over a strong program from Mike Rice. Rice went to Rutgers and everyone wants him fired already. I'm not that impressed.

I like Toole, a up and comer for sure. His team score, he is well spoken what’s not to like. Siena needs to at least talk to him

Sure, nothing wrong with him, I personally just feel Siena can do better. I haven't seen him linked to too many openings, I don't think he's as sought after as some here do.

prior to Pitino getting involved I liked Toole.
I'll take either ... with a slight preference to Pitino

I feel the same way about Paulsen. It is great that they were able to keep it going, but I am more impressed with Pitino. I'd be happy with most of the guys currently being mentioned though.

I'll take either ... with a slight preference to Pitino if you look at it on paper, both Paulsen & Toole are certainly more accomplished as head coaches than young Pitino............not a knock on him, because he does have background/pedigree, but this is what we know is true!!!!!!!!!!!!

We really need to find a diamond in the rough. Some of you want a coach in high demand. If we're bidding for a guys services against top-10 conferences, we'll very likely lose. Sure the Siena job is a good one but there are lots of good jobs. Going to the A10, if it happens, can be good or bad. LaSalle suffered through ~20 years of bad before making the sweet 16 this year. I'm confident a good choice will be made.

RMU only had one senior contributor on their roster this season, who was their leading assist man and 4th leading scorer. All other players on their roster are Toole recruits. Toole has maintained a strong team, and has a strong recruiting class (for the NEC) coming in next season including former Siena interest Jeremiah Worthem. Where are the incoming Robert Morris players from? Two from Philly, one from Patterson, NJ. These are areas where Siena traditionally has found success in recruiting. If Siena announces a move to the A-10, I am sure these area players would be ecstatic in getting a chance to play against St. Joe's & LaSalle on a regular basis.

You missed about 15-20 openings. If you were going for TOP, Hofstra doesn't belong there. But by your list, 5 out of 347 schools is a lot? And which Siena candidates are in the running at UCLA or Minnesota?

And which Siena candidates are in the running at UCLA or Minnesota? You don't need Siena candidates to be directly involved with those schools for it to have an impact. One of those schools takes a coach from somewhere else that would now be interested in the top Siena candidates and it is a problem. Say Jamie Dixon had decided to go to USC. Then suddenly Pitt would have had an opening and Paulsen and Toole may have been on their list.
