Would it be in Siena's best interests to accept a bid to become a member of the Colonial Athletic Association to replace George Mason if it does not get an invite to the A10 ?
_____________
Note: currently the CAA basketball is made up of Northeastern, Delaware, Towson, James Madison, Georgia State, Drexel, William & Mary, UNC Wilmington, Hofstra, Old Dominion.

Uh no, but I wouldn't mind UA making the move.

no, the A10 is the only move that makes sense, i'd otherwise stay put

With respect to CAA membership, both Georgia State and ODU have previously announced their departue at the end of the academic year and Charleston is joining as of July1.
In any event, I would not favor moving there. Football is clearly king, and the geographic spread I'd S much bigger than in the MAAC or the A10, assuming St. Louis and Dayton are bound for the new Big East.

What if the CAA divides into North and South divisions, and adds Davidson College and Elon University? The South would be them, College of Charleston, UNC Wilmington, College of William & Mary, and James Madison University. And then the North would be Towson, Delaware, Drexel, Hofstra, Northeastern, and one more school that they would need to add. They don't need a football school, since Elon alone would give them a 12th member on that side. It's possible they could grab Stony Brook or UAlbany, but what if they don't want to upset football affiliates UNH and Maine and so they leave America East alone?
Let's suppose that Siena says no, then Fairfield says yes and leaves the MAAC for the CAA.
Do we now regret not moving?

Grass isn't always greener is going to be a line many of you will be thinking about in a couple years.

The CAA isn't a step up anymore. It is ranked behind the MAAC this year and that's with Mason.
