he played last night mid 2nd half in the Nuggets preseason opener vs the Suns, it was on TNT 10pm..............anyway, he got 17 minutes had 5 pts with 2 assists (no turnovers) also a +5 when he was on the floor.........most importantly he showed he "belonged" albeit in that short stint.............additionally, they mentioned him a few times on the broadcast prior to his entering the game in that coach Mike Malone is very high on him being able to give support to the PG position.........but the Nuggets are loaded, they have 10-11 solid guys in the mix for minutes...........but seems like it is a great opportunity for Jalen..........

I wish Jalen the best, but one comment he made caught my interest. He said that he should be able to post up "smaller" guards like he did in college. My thought is that there aren't that many NBA guards smaller then he is. Yes there are a few, but if he is going to get minutes, other than mop up minutes, he is not going to be guarded by many players smaller than he is. He is strong but so are most of the NBA players he will be matched up against and he is more likely to be only equal to or less athletic than those other guys as well. Just a thought. That said I wouldn't bet against Jalen given everything he has accomplished to date. There is a reason he was drafted by the NBA champs. He is a winner. |
