Ed Cooley was very entertaining at last night's Coaches vs. Cancer event. HJe also raised $20,000 by offering two four packs of tickets plus hotel rooms for the Big East tournament on top of giving one pack to Casey O'Connor, the CBA baseball coach who was also honored last night.
One thing that struck me about Cooley was his statement tha if he is ever elected to the Basketbll Hall of Fame, he will go in as a Providence coach. There are a lot of Providence fans who are very unhappy about his being poached by Georgetown and especially about his apparently being contacted by the Hoyas well before the end of the 2022-23 season. By the way, PC has already sold out the Amica Mutual Pavilion for the 2023-24season, and I'll bet selling the ticket for Georgetown at Providence on January 27 might enable some season ticket holders to pay for their entire season ticket cost.
