It has often been talked about on the board - the Fran McCaffery era here at Siena was really something special and a great memory for those of us who followed the team at that time. I was reminded a little of that yesterday when I watched Iowa beat #15 Indiana, 90-68. Indiana was just coming off an upset of Purdue and had only lost once at home going into the Iowa game.
Iowa pushed the pace of this game right out of the gate and they kept the game going at breakneck speed. They NEVER walked the ball up the court until the final 8:00 of play when they ran down the clock, leading by 20 points. And in the half court - back cuts, curl cuts - open teammates in the lane - what a flow to the offense.
Makes me say that Siena was very fortunate that Fran spent a few years with the Saints and they will ALWAYS be years to remember. That guy knows how to coach offense!!!!
