It's such a boring day for me that I just noticed the retired jerseys seen in the page banner above (those for Harrell, Brown, and Hasbrouck) include their graduation years. Did they change that for Doremus' jersey or does his say Class of 2022?
Maybe they should those from class years to years they played for Siena. If graduation is a requirement we may be done with retired jerseys.

Have banners hanging to honor all the all time greats regardless of whether they graduate from Siena. But no retired numbers please. Last thing we want is a recruit to pick Iona over us cause of something as petty as a uniform number being available there and not here. As we see in professional sports all the time, guys value their jersey numbers well into the 6 figure range and sometimes more.

It should be a very very small number. If a top recruit wanted to wear #41 —I’m sure Kenny Hasbrouck would want the player to get it to commit.

For a number like 23 you can honor Bennerman and Ubiles on a Wall of Fame without the shortsightedness of retiring an incredibly popular number.

With all the talk of adding new banners to the rafters the one thing that hasn't been mentioned is the now typical trend of players not playing here through graduation. The most obvious of these in the past is Pickett. With all his MAAC accolades and his imminent NBA championship ring, does #22 go up anyway and set a new precedent for not needing to graduate? If graduation is a requirement we're done with the possible exception of an Ubiles duplicate, Rossiter, and Moore.

I have advocated that with respect to the Hall of Fame, someone like Jalen Pickett, who did earn a college degree, should be eligible for selection. I think the same policy should apply to hanging banners at the Arena. If people want a requirement of playing at Siena for at least two years, I would be fine with that.

Does anyone else agree that this is the most exciting thing to happen to Siena basketball this off season? His game at the garden was one of the best performances I have ever witnessed. I was there. Who else was there for that game? I would think the better question to ask was who wasn't there. Most posting here were probably there if they were out of grade school at the time.

I was there for the Nova game. The Siena crowd was LOUD. Disappointing loss by what a great night.
Bennerman still goes down as the best Siena player ever in my book. Brown and Pickett deserve to be in the conversation but Bennerman was the man imo.

We had so many great players, Bennerman is on every list of mine. Hasbrouck and Ubiles also very special and on every list. Franklin was responsible for a lot more Siena wins than he got credit for.
