We all know the big games tossed around here - Pitino Jr, Paulsen, Toole, Warren, Greenberg, Neubauer, etc but here are a few potential "sleepers" -
Andy Enfield - Florida Gulf Coast - FGCU is only in their second year in D1 and Enfield has gotten them into the NCAA tournament in the Atlantic Sun (same league Jacksonville's Cliff Warren is in)... He is 39-27... this year they went 24-10 and averaged 73.1 PPG playing an uptempo style (watching them on TV very exciting) They also beat Miami during the season. Enfield was an assistant at Florida State and played at Johns Hopkins and holds the NCAA record for FT percentage.
Joe Dooley - top assistant coach to Bill Self at Kansas... was a head coach at ECU from 1995-1999 and went 57-52. George Washington former player.
Jack Perri - Long Island - Guided LI to a 20-13 and NCAA bid in his first year taking over for Jim Ferry who left for Duquense. Only been a head coach for one season.
Jamion Christian - Mount St. Mary's - One season as head coach but took over a struggling program and was 18-14 in year one. Can score points and has been an assistant at VCU and Bucknell.
Zach Spiker - Army - Believe NolaSaint mentioned him. Record is only 53-67 in four years but had the first winning season in 28 years at Army.
Not endorsing any of these coaches but they potentially could be in the mix after the top targets. One thing I'm wondering is if this search is going to be ALL D'Arg or a small group (committee) making the decision? I would hope it's the latter!

There will be no committee this time around. D'Arg will be advised by "strategic people" (his words, not mine), but do all the legwork himself before making a recommendation to Fr. Mullen. They've already zeroed in on someone. And no, I'm not going to say who, so don't ask.

If it is Pitino Jr - I hope Siena structures his contract that if he leaves before the end of his fourth season Siena gets a nice buyout.

SienaFan--you need to tell someone(and let us know who that would be so we can establish your credibility). I believe that target would be Cliff Warren since it was reported D'Arg flew down to Fla.

If I were Siena I'd look at Anthony Evans from Norfolk State.

Pitino Jr. is the best choice. He'll have great talent in here ASAP, and will play a style that was similar to what Hewitt played. It'll be fun and entertaining. He'll get us back to glory in 2-3 years, and then move on. At this point, that works for me

Suffice it to say, I'm not overly concerned about establishing credibility here. Just because I say they have an early favorite doesn't guarantee that individual ends up being the person hired at the end of the process. It's too early in the process for anyone to claim they know who the next coach is gonna be - and that is definitely not what I was claiming to know. Let's just see how it plays out. I'll let you know after the fact who you can go to for confirmation if you still care at that point.

The website hoopdirt is listing all our candidates, plus one you'll all love- Will Brown. Although the Buffalo job opened today and Will might want that.

If it is in the "Cards" I want Pitino. After that I would like Warren then Hurley.
