I was saddened to read in today’s TU the passing of Mrs Huerter. While she was known as Dorothy by many and “Dot” by Mr Huerter (Robert (Bob to friends)) she’ll always be Mrs Huerter to me. Gone are the days when Mr & Mrs Huerter would attend Siena basketball games at the Knickerbocker/Pepsi/Times Union where they sat to the right of us. Their son Bill down in front of us, their daughter-in-law Erin down and to the left of us with her daughters, Tom announcing the games with Robert (The General) and Kevin and maybe Thomas as ball boys during the games. I got to know the Huerters through Dave & Carol Driggs, at the games, and got to know them better during the Old Spice Classic tournament in Disney when Mr Huerter reserved a block of rooms at Dinsney for us fans to stay. Boy, I miss those days. Thoughts and prayers to all the Huerter family. www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/timesunion-albany/name/dorothy-huerter-obituary?id=33868574

She was a great lady and a great mom and grandma. I took many trips with Bob and Dorothy. I remember tournaments at Syracuse, N, C. State and Las Vegas and a van ride to Olean. In the last several years I have really missed getting together with the Huerters, the Driggs, Mr. Siena and various other fans at the '76 Diner to rehash all home games wins and losses. May Dorothy rest in peace.
