Anyone that thinks Iona is a shoo-in to win the MAAC Tourney is crazy. Iona or Monmouth will win the regular season but the league is competitive enough for anything to happen come March.

Iona shot terrible in all three percentages but offensive rebounding gave them sixteen more shot and many more free throws. Wojcik's eight 3'shad Fairfield ahead most of the game.
Canisus at home led all game versus Quinnipiac.

Iona will win for fun. 20-0 plus 3 in AC is in play. 18-2 at worst.

Iona will win for fun. 20-0 plus 3 in AC is in play. 18-2 at worst. Today Iona left the defense in New Rochelle for much of the game. That won't work against Monmouth and a couple of other MAAC team. I don't think Iona goes undefeated, but if they play to their potential they should be at the top in the MAAC if not number 1, no worse than 2nd. They can put up good numbers even when shooting poorly.

I have faith in the “lunch pail” Saints. I’m not giving up on 1st place in conference and winning conference tournament. That was a real possibility with Platek on the team. Now that he is injured, it’s one less solid player.

Carm has been a winner so far. Last year's conf tournament loss to Iona sits squarely with Pickett and Camper. Don't get me wrong...those 2 guys made the team the regular season champs. That said, they choked when it really counted. Carm didn't turn the ball over 7 times.

Just finish in the top 5 and take your chances. Although if you finish 6th you’d avoid Iona until the finals if you got there but would have to play the extra game. Best case is somehow if Siena can finish third.

Nothing guarantees you will avoid Iona, there is very little to separate them and Monmouth, either could wind up the 1 seed and either way you are going to be on the same side of the bracket as one of them and good chance you would have to beat both.
