I fully expect our team to have a head coaching vacancy before the Big East tournament starts Wednesday.
That being said, I expect D'Arg to meet with Jr. this weekend in NYC while he's paying his father back with some professional support during his tournament.
Hopefully the meeting goes well and a fast hire is done. Sooner the better. We need to recruit immediately. No need to interview more than 2 or 3 guys. Get it done.

The Old Man was gushing with praise for us in 2009, we'll see if he would recommend us to his son.
I love the idea of Pitino being hired. That being said HJ, I wouldnt expect anything until after the Final 4. Due diligence, or however you spell it.

The search will officially begin tomorrow so roughly you're looking at three weeks (April 3-5). For you history buffs like me Mitch Buonaguro was the 15th head coach in Siena history. He was the worst coach. James Buchanan was the 15th President of the United States - considered by many to be the worst. Let's hope our 16th coach is a Lincoln (who I believe Misspractice voted for! ... maybe that's a bad analogy, of course, because the 17th POTUS was Andrew Johnson a man who was one vote of being removed from office. We have to get off this good coach, bad coach carousel someday. Hopefully we're due for a good one now and another good one whenever he bolts in 4-5 years.

Per Twitter, Pete Thamel floated the following names as potential interest/interviewees (not really any surprises): Patsos, Andy Toole (also mentioned by Rothstein), John Becker, Dave Paulsen, Cliff Warren, Bill Coen.
This was speculation on his part, not an absolute statement.

That's whay I said interview 2 or 3 guys, that's all. We don't need to talk to a dozen guys. This should/can be done in a few weeks. Giving the new guy time to get the 5 or 6 new players we'll need takes time. Pitino should be first in NYC, and it wouldn't surprise me if the other 2 or 3 guys are asked to interview in the Big Apple this weekend.

NYC is a pretty good hub for the names in the mix......all can be there in an hour by plane, train or automobile!!
Let's face it, this opening has been known about for a couple of months now, so I honestly think the process is already in step 2, but it's not general knowledge.

Here's a name that probably won't get mentioned ... Zack Spiker, the coach at Army. Record hovers at .500 but in 4 years at West Point he has more wins then anyone since Coach K. (including Jim Crews, who just led St Louis to an A10 regular season championship)

In my opinion it boarders on gross misconduct if the list and at least some vetting hasn't been done in the last 45-60 days. The outcome has been known for at least that long. This stuff is done quietly ALL the time. With everything that is riding on the next couple months intentionally waiting until the Final Four would, again in my opinion, be disastrous.

Pitino, for instance, is done. Seth Greenburg is available, Patsos, Cliff Warren are available as well. The rest are up in the air and of course there are a number of names that have not been publicized as of yet
