www.maacbball.blogspot.com/2013/03/if-buonaguro-is-out-at-siena-warren.htmlSteve Amedio reporting (and taking a shot at the "fans") that D'Arg went down to Jacksonville to talk with Cliff Warren. That's surprising if accurate considering Siena hasn't officially dismissed Mitch yet. I like Warren but he's coming off two straight losing seasons (22-40 last two seasons) so I don't know how well that would sell at Siena. He would have been an easy choice when Fran left as he really had Jacksonville doing well. Of course it's not the easiest place to win at. This hire is the most important in the history of Siena basketball so the admin can't afford to make another mistake!

If they hire Warren, I'll be buying UAlbany season tickets. He can't help us at all.

I wouldn’t worry about it, take anything Amedio says with a grain of salt, he is the Andy Katz of Siena basketball. He throws more crap against the wall and hope something eventually sticks. Does he get anything right when it comes to Siena coaches? This is the man who proudly, unequivocally stated several times that Lanier could lose every game rest of the season and still be back. He broke the national news that Fran was definitely going to Penn . Steve is ok reporting the sports , once he gets into speculation, MTS has a better track record than Amedio

Very surprised none of the conspiracty theorists out there might have seen the trip south as a job interview for JD himself! LOL

for all we know it could have been a face to face to let Warren know out of respect that they would hear what he had to say and that they plan on going in a different direction.
If people throw their names in the hat, assuming they have the minimum qualifications, they may get some face time ... doesnt mean they will be hired.

D'Arg and Warren may have talked, but I think Siena is serious that Mitch isn't fired yet. The hiring committee hasn't been formed yet.
I'm guessing it was a fundraising trip. I bet Siena's got a lot of donors down there.

Miami is like 6 hours south of Jacksonville. But that's not to say that one of them didn't make the drive (, he says, throwing fuel on the fire).
