Poole, Silas & Burdine are solid building blocks for next year with the right coach. The team desperately needs to true PG and a dynamic offensive system that suits their skills.

I agree, if they were the only three returning, but thats not case. Mitch deserves the blame, but Fran laid the foundation for the collapse.

I have to wonder how things would have turned out differently if Fran had been able to recruit and retain another point guard. De La Rosa transferred, Yard transferred, Griffin never recovered from his knee injury, Breeden didn't really pan out (although he was also underappreciated), and then Bryon Allen chose Mason over Siena. That's when Fran got out. And then Mitch picked up Brookins.

Fran got lucky with Kenny, then got even luckier with Franklin and Moore. Im sure he'd be the first to tell you that too. He hit a few homers, but had a lot more strikeouts.

Kenny, Eddie, Alex, Ronald, Ryan, CJ, O.D., Poole, Burdine & Basabe - that's not luck. That's 5 yrs of solid recruiting.

He's getting lucky at Iowa. And was lucky at Lehigh and NC Greensboro too.

regarding mccaffery...stop.
in your eyes mitch was just unlucky and left nothing. Not even remotely close to true. everyone but you sees it
and hes had three years to fix what you claim and done nothing to fix it. hes a pathetic excuse of a head coach and extremely limitedasan assistant. it's over and rightfully so.

Jackson was a better than average college player, OD is the most over rated and one dimentional player I have ever seen, Poole and Burdine, below average players and Basabe never came here. He left at the perfect time for his well being.

Agree with this as long as the respond to team discipinary and other changes coming soon (thank goodness) We don't know if Oliver can recover but he is a smart kid and if he can, I think he could be anoter building piece. Rahk should never play again to avoid further body damage. Davis will be gone. Evan needs to come off the bench ala Tay Fisher and that is all. Quite frankly, the rest of the scholly players should be shown an appropriate exit in my opinion, the sooner the better.

Papi - your post was that Fran was lucky and had more mistakes than good gets. Basabe was not only a good get, he was able to get him to follow him to Iowa and be a 1,000 pt player in the Big10. Clearly, a home run as you put it. And on the court, Poole & Burdine are clearly at least avg MAAC players, if not above average. And under Mitch's system, pretty clearly playing below their ceiling.

This team has plenty of role player pieces that are relevant next year besides Poole, Silas & Burdine. I simply highlighted those 3 to refute Papi's assertion that everyone was soft. All 3 gave solid, hard minutes down the stretch when ( as fans we all proved) it was easy to give up on the season and not care.

Some of us (fans) were there to the bitter end, so as one, I resent you saying that we all proved it was easy to give up. sitting through the tourney this weekend, I can tell you we aren't going anywhere inthe MAAC with 'role players' let alone the A-10.

Fair - all was the wrong word choice. Many or most would've been more accurate given what I saw at both games this weekend (which I was at too). This team is 2 players short of being highly competitive in the MAAC next year given the right leader and plan.
