Penn State: — Every game on national TV — fly charters for games — compete in best CBB conference — Massive party school (a life I know Jalen enjoys) — Better student-athlete experience — Coach who worked closely with Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown — starting role — 3.5 hours from home Siena: — Slightly better chance at NCAA tournament bid — starting role — 3.5 hours from home Someone please help me figure out the better opportunity! I dont blame JP for wanting a shot at playing at the highest level. I think we're all rooting for him. BUT, we did just watch several MAAC stars go this route, and I cant think of one that had a successful year. Only thing forgot on the Siena ledger is his legacy at Siena. Might not seem like a big deal today, or tomorrow, but 5 years from now and forever he might regret how he left it. the 4 year star player seems to be a thing of the past....especially at the MM level. Again, cant blame him for wanting a shot at this, and I know I want him to succeed.

Jalen is definitely better than any of the dudes who transferred up this year. He’s a step above guys like Salnave and Kelly and Vaughn and Estrada. I also think he was smart to choose Penn State, where he’s the undisputed starter, than chasing it at Virginia or Baylor or somewhere like that where he could get played out of the rotation like Cremo did at Nova. Go get your guaranteed 25-30 minutes, if you play well enough you help your NBA shot and if not you have three seasons of good tape to fall back on for a long, lucrative career in Europe.

Have to admit I didn’t immediately like the Penn St selection, but after mulling it over it was by far the safest - risk averse move he could have made while stepping up his level of play. I’m sure we’ll all be watching and wishing him the best.

Spot on, and exactly why I suggested Penn St and BC right after he entered the portal.
