Ha hah 🙄🙄 What a load of nonsense! ⬆️ I course there will large crowds (by the fall) at the TU Center! People need to chill out! depends on how you define large crowds....................sure, as compared to other MAAC schools, Siena will always out draw any of them, yet the ceiling on those crowds is really low.......and with the inability to draw top power teams to Albany, and the scenario where it is hard to build a consistent winner thanks to the NCAA allowing kids to jump ship without pause, it is gonna be hard to pull in bigger type crowds that we have seen in the past.................no question, college basketball has changed completely, and not for the good of the sport, am sure the pundits don't all feel that way, because the schools at the top of the food chain will always be good, TV networks will still gravitate to show the marquis games all the time, and they will get what they want anyway in March when the dust settles, 99% of the time the power schools are left standing to battle it out for the title...........what they might lose is the "madness" that made March so special..........you can almost see the direction the NCAA really wants to go with this to be more like football, separated into FBS-formerly D1(A) & FCS -formerly D1 (AA).........basically, the haves and the have nots.......guess which one the mid-majors slot into............

I'm disappointed that I won't get to see Jalen in green & gold any longer and that he won't go down with the Siena greats that played here all 4 years. However, I understand the situation and can't fault him for seeing what he can do another level up for a year or two to advance his basketball career without having to sit. I wish him the best.
I really despise the thought of being a farm team, but cannot do anything but root for Siena. I hope Carm moves to waves and waves of 6'2"-6'6" guards that can create, shoot (35% from 3), and defend (switch everything). Then 2-3 athletic bigs that can get up and down the floor, rebound, defend, and get buckets by cleaning up around the rim rather than set plays in the post. Think 6-7 players in the mold of Edwin Ubiles, Marcus Faison, Dwayne Archbold, Scoop Jordan, Clarence Jackson, and 2-3 like OD Anosike and Justin Miller. I know that's much easier said than done, but if we can't keep stars, it's going to be more about the type of players and system we run. Guards are more readily available as both HS seniors and the portal. Get as many as possible and run an up-tempo game for 40 minutes.

's failure ( which started with the hiring of the Program wrecker) to get an invite to the A_10 was the bigest mistake in the history of Siena sports. It now looks like a slow death into oblivion. In time nobody will want to watch college basketball which can't attract an occasional exceptional talent or test the big boys in the NCAA Tournament.

They won’t do the last part. They would kill the golden goose— the NCAA tournament. Where are you going to put non football powers like Gonzaga and Villanova anyway? As far as crowds they’ve been declining for a while with more games on TV. Look at the crowds that Deane and Hewitt drew at the TUC compared to Fran. Fran had the best run in program history and did not draw as big of crowds as his predecessors with the exception of the UA game. I think next year we’ll draw well. People are starved to get back into the arena. If you win they’ll come. Remember it’s the FRONT of the jersey we root for not the back. It’s not professional sports guys don’t last 10-15 years it’s four years at tops. Players and coaches come and go. It’s pick the right ones when the others move on!

If I had to suggest a high major team where Jalen might find success, it would be Michigan. They had a grad transfer PG this year who was much smaller with a similar game to Pickett's, and their 7' center would really thrive with a pick n roll option. Plus, they have a great young coach (Juwan Howard) and Ann Arbor is not too far from western NY.

MTS, those conferences of the Zags & Nova are in the top echelon, has nothing to do with their connection to football, none, so they would be included, and there has already been talk of this separation before not sure where you have been.................and Fran's teams avg the highest attendance of any yrs at the TUC compared to past coaches...........

Each has their strengths, but don’t see a lot of similarities. Juwan Howard is 48. Not particularly young, but not old either. And Rochester is about 370 miles from Ann Arbor......eleven hours round trip by car, but flying’s a possibility, though that gets expensive depending on how often you do it. We’ll see how it plays out, but the Big Ten may be too much of a step up for JP. Wish that he had stayed in Loudonville, but hope he does well (and gets a degree) wherever he ends up.

He made Evan jump another level with the pick and roll, imagine Jalen with Kofi Cockburn at Illinois. Big 10 suits Pickett’s style of play, tends to be old school ball.

You guys realize Illinois already has a really good freshman PG from NY, Andre Cerbulo. He played against Albany Academy several times for Lu-Hi.
