Did anyone watch the VA v FSU game last night? The Noles were on fire. Definitely looking like team that can make a deep run in the tourney.

Hamilton always has incredible talent, and then runs into a better coached team in the NCAA's.

Hamilton always has incredible talent, and then runs into a better coached team in the NCAA's. Not sure I agree with that thought. He runs into better coaches throughout the regular season. :-) The biggest difference the last couple years is that Hamilton and staff are actually working on offense as much as the work on defense. I truly would have been shocked if they didn’t win it all last year. As soon said this year I expect a deep run and a shot at the Final 4.

For a guy with that much talent, year in and year out, to NEVER make the Final Four, is hard to defend. Have they ever made an Elite Eight?

The rest of the Saints would truly struggle. Not going all Papi here but the Noles are uber talented, deep and come at opponents in waves.

But you are right about his teams talent level over the years. That’s why I said recent focus on O makes his Noles much better. His teams scores used to be in the low 60s now they are mid70s. With the defensive pressure they apply that makes a huge difference. Note: not a stats research guy so I may be off with the averages.

One Elite Eight, and 2 Sweet 16 appearances. Like I said, not very good for the talent level he seems to always have! I remember him being a great recruiter at Kentucky, and still is at FSU They will always be a team I wouldnt want to face in the tournament. BTW--can you remember Duke and NC being so bad in the same year? FSU sticking out this year.

Prior to the last couple years he was ALL about individual and team defense and individual offense. Last couple years - LATE in his career he seems to finally recognize what John Chaney said years ago - you can’t win a game 0-2. You have to be able to score. Since adjusting his philosophy they are a much more dangerous team. Shocking how down both Duke and Carolina are!
