Watched with pleasure as duke lost again. The team has lost six games but the announcers still spent the entire game explaining how duke can still make the ncaas. Any other team and there's not a chance in hell they make it.
Well, if you're in a power conference you always have a good chance, and if your name is Duke ( not to be confused with Douka's) you have an even better chance. After all, the Big 10, might send eleven teams to the dance this year! How's that for an oxymoron?

Duke is having a rough season for sure, and they are now looking at having to win 5 games to punch their ticket (but some are saying if they win 4 but lose in the ACC final that they are back on the bubble with a chance)...............LOL, Duke in the MAAC would be much better than 9-9, who are we kidding................
The point is that what makes the NCAA tournament the best sporting event of the year are the upsets. And if the selection committee keeps that in mind they'll select a really good and worthy mid major rather than a .500 major conference team. Who really wants to watch a 10th place ACC team, even if their name is Duke? Not me. Generally, by the time you get to the final 8 or 4, order is restored and you have the same tired old big names. But it's the upsets along the way that make the tournament exciting. And even better, you sometimes have those odd years where a VCU, George Mason or Butler sneak in to the Final 4. And that's even better!
