Where does the Ohio V conference rate in relation to The Maac? Much much higher. Right now it’s probably what the MAAC was when Fran was HC

The conference was ranked 28 last year, compared to the maac equally abysmal 24th. They had a couple good teams but the majority of their conference was ranked 270 or worse.

OVC is like the A-East in that they’ve had some consistently dominant programs and some dregs that keep the rating down. Belmont got an at-large in 2018-19, Murray State won a tournament game that year with Ja Morant. Belmont and Murray are consistently top 100 teams but the bottom is pretty bad.

Much much higher. Right now it’s probably what the MAAC was when Fran was HC I think the more relevant question is where’s Belmont in relation to Siena. Approximately 825 miles southwest.

The last three seasons, Belmont ranked in the 80’s in RPI and was 38 one of those years. Siena was 299, 210 and finally 110 last season
The NET rankings for last season had Belmont at 101 or so and Siena at 151.
In addition, in the past 15 or so years, Belmont has won fewer than 20 games only one seasons n and they had 19 wins that year.

Belmont is what many expected Siena to be during and after the Fran years. They figured out how to stay at or near the top of a bad conference. Most of all they kept the same head coach and weren't losing one or firing one every few years.

And they won the OVC. Alexander is a Belmont alum who was the head coach at Lipscomb before returning to Belmont.

I've heard of them but that's about it, didn't know they basically win 20 games every year just goes to show how nobody really cares about the low major conferences.

If you really follow college hoop - they used to be bottom of the barrel. Over time they became respectable. They have done OK but haven't actually won many "up" games. I think they have 1 NCAA win.
