I'd like to see his numbers from the away St Peters game (2/2) on. Thats when he got his back-up center job back. Bet he shot 75% from the field in those 11 games.

6'10" 5th year from Western Illinois fills up our last frontcourt opening.
Numbers are very similar to Sammys so looks like a push. Fouling looks like a concern. Best game might have been opening night vs Indiana. Good sign.
Glad we got one more big though.

He was at D2 Juco for 2 years and 1 year at Western Illinois so I wouldn't expect he is a grad transfer.
I think they're taking him with the expectation that the sit out requirement will be gone next month.

I think Kyle is a slight upgrade over Sammy at Center- Kyle rebounds better, can seal his man ( consistently) something Sammy struggled with. Plays hard every possession ( again something Sammy struggled with) few inches taller, plus bigger upside, Kyle had to make adjustment from Juco to D1 last year, that adjustment period is over. Hopefully Kyle can play more than 2-3 min when needed before he is winded. High character kid. Certainly no world beater, but definitively makes team better

Certainly no world beater, but definitively makes team better Per 40 minutes Arrington produced 13 ppg and 12 rpg. He contributed 103 points 94 rebounds and 12 blocks to his team on the season. For Friday the comparable per 40 numbers are 15.7 and 10 per game. He contributed 114 points 73 rebounds and 9 blocks for the season. Seems to me that that Arrington did well in his first D1 season relative to what Friday did in his 4th. This is at worst a wash, and potentially an upgrade. I don't see why some people are down on this recruit. He is not intended to be Burns' replacement, he's intended to be Friday's. In that context, I think this is a great addition with little risk. If he's ineligible next season, he's agreed to pay his own way so he only takes up a scholarship when he can play. Why wouldn't you take that deal?

The plan is probably to go with a Young/Golson/Tate threesome at center.
Arrington is likely just some insurance in case of an injury...and to have another big body to practice against.
These guys are going to be playing against bigger centers.

Don't know much about this kid but he was part of a JUCO national championship team the year prior. Western Illinois was a mess.
Still think Young is the future at the 5 for Siena, this Kyle gives them some depth and another big body. I trust that Carmen is making the recruiting decisions he thinks fulfills his vision for the program.
Welcome to the fold Kyle, glad to have you aboard.

from a hands standpoint, this kids ability to catch (and hold the ball in traffic) is ahead of Friday's capability.........plus in some of the limited video, he is also shown to be a passer not holding onto the ball waiting to make a decision so he will definitely find the open man, that is something that Sammy could not do without struggling...............just saying for what it's worth............

Wasn’t long ago that Sammy was getting a lot well-deserved credit for his contributions to the team/program the last month of the season, and for helping the team win the MAAC championship. Lots of pats on the back, compliments for being such a nice young man, and best wishes as he moves on from Siena.
Now seems like it’s back to the same old-same old. Sammy was limited, couldn’t do this or that, came up short here or there, etc.
Guess Sammy’s Era of Good Feeling at Siena is officially in the rear view mirror.

Like the old saying goes, you don't know what you have until it is gone. Sammy, when 100%, was a very capable MAAC level center and certainly started to show that at the end of this seaon. Too many on here forget that he had season ending knee surgery last season. It was obvious that most of this season he was not playing 100%. He will be missed more than most think. Wishing him all the best. Will be interesting to see if the Saints center position will be an area of strength like it was this season. My gut is telling me it won't be the case. I hope I am wrong. Go Saints! Go Sammy!

Sammy was limited, couldn’t do this or that, came up short here or there, etc. Guess Sammy’s Era of Good Feeling at Siena is officially in the rear view mirror. Sammy had a good month. It was valuable and helped us win the league. That's true. He was also a fun guy that was generally well-liked by his teammates. There's also a reason he's gone, and it's not because we don't have his master's program. Three coaches over four years couldn't get through to him to get his diet right (regardless of all the Jamion gushing in the media about him making his bed every day). He still didn't practice hard. He still didn't do basic stuff like seal in the post, get up and down the floor, screen hard, etc far too often for coaches not to get frustrated. Arrington in many ways is a palate cleanser-- he plays super hard, very fundamental, great size. I wish the best to Sammy and hope he has a great life after basketball. I also don't blame the staff or anyone else who has closely followed the program for not limitlessly heaping praise on a kid that was more bad than good for all but one month of his college career.
