I guess Siena will be refunding our season ticket costs for the games that "didn't happen"....vacating the negative charges in my checking account is their next step...

Hysterical that the NCAA probably spent thousands of dollars on an investigation for 'illegal benefits' that probably had a fair value of $1k, or $2k tops.

The hiring of Jimmy Patsos as Siena Head Coach.... The Gift that keeps on giving. With lawyer's fees, investigations, contract buyouts, reports, loss of revenue, etc., would love to know how much it "cost" the Saints program to have Jimmy as their head coach.... Priceless. Patsos was a clown and a criminal as Siena HC. How he can be on Wizards TV crew and working for Under Armor after all the BS while at Siena is mind boggeling. I guess neither did a background check before hiring him.... hmm that sounds familiar... Did D'Arg seem prepared for this press conference? Came across as not having all the facts or details... Amazing. I thought he was fine. spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/capital-region/sports/2020/03/09/siena-men-basketball-ncaa-infractions

John made several hundred thousand dollars during those three years to lead the athletic program responsible for supervising Patsos and claims he didn’t know any of this or the other issues were going on is fine? He should have been announcing his retirement.

He should have been announcing his retirement. Have to agree. The BB program is the only program of significance at the school. One would think that the AD would have it under a microscope at all times. That being said I wondered why the NCAA didn’t call for the AD head also. Perhaps John is retiring soon. Before posters swear us up and down John did a lot of good for the school, but his last years have been marred. I rather see him retire on a high note than be forced out. Admin will not look kindly on this. Basically John should have seen what was happening. One thing, Siena did the NCAA a favor, no one will probrably hire JP in the college BB area again. Man is toxic now,

Fortunately, no real wins of significance during that time. Can you imagine cheating and still sucking enough to get fired!?!?

Didn't see it posted already, here's the D'arg presser. So many Siena fans try and pretend the Patsos era never happened...now they don't have to! Who is the reporter with the deep Darth Vader voice?

Just think how bad things would have been if he didn’t cheat. The only reason this story is bad for Patsos is that his head coaching record is so bad that this would clinch it for someone thinking hiring him as a head coach. If he won a bunch of games, this is small potatoes and he easily gets another job. Why risk your program going .500 with rules violations Better off hiring a Pitino type, at least you might win violating the rules.

It was stupid stuff. Not like they were buying recruits. Siena self reported but it probably goes on at a lot of schools and they just let it go. Siena was honest and reported it to the NCAA (although one reason to report it was probably to get rid of 16) - maybe the basketball Gods will look kindly upon us this weekend!

So this investigation has been going on for the last two years and yet the college didn't think it was necessary to inform the community.

Siena was honest and reported it to the NCAA (although one reason to report it was probably to get rid of 16) - maybe the basketball Gods will look kindly upon us this weekend! The whole thing was slimy. Everyone knew that Siena wanted out from under Patsos (great visual there huh?). They found a way to get rid of him. Not a big fan of how that seemed to go down. The school's issue was that they were in a contract with a coach they didn't want anymore after they blew the hire before him. The violations were used as leverage to minimize the financial damage of getting Patsos out of Loudonville. When Patsos was hired, I was neutral on the guy. Didn't like the job he did as HC, but the break-up was ugly. Not a fan of how it went down, but I get that's how things work. This is all opinion using intuition and logic, I can't state any of this as fact, but that is how it looks to me.

If he did his job this all would have been completely unnecessary. Patsos has no one to blame but himself, he was more than well compensated for the little he did!
As I said back when this was unfolding the administration has some culpability. They lacked checks and balances and let Patsos linger for far too long. That $hitshow should have never lasted 5 years.
Can’t be happier that this is finally behind us, we have an excellent head-coach and staff who are pro-player, professional and of high character.
Times have finally changed for the better!
Hopefully this is the last chapter in far too long and bad book. Time to move on!
