Since attending/watching a Siena basketball game has become difficult to say the least I started taking in some local high school basketball games to fill the void. I have to say there appears to be some pretty decent local talent that Siena should be keeping an eye on. For starters Jamil Hood Jr from Green Tech. He's a junior. Very explosive, can jump out of the gym, decent shot and tough defender. Jahlil Nails from Columbia. He's a sophomore, is about 6'4" and growing. Shoots very well from anywhere on the floor. Basketball smart, quick, can play inside or out, exceptional jumping ability and a good defender. Anthony Mack from CCHS, a freshman. His dad is the coach. This kid has size, can shoot, rebound, defends well and understands the game beyond his years. This just names a few and I'm sure there are others. Interested to know if anyone else has seen any of these kids play or others they believe can contribute at the D1 level?

They may be decent D1 players- it will be quesstionable whether or not the new staff will have local interests. Planning on attending Sectionals @ HVCC Sat.

NAils should transfer to a basketball school like CBA or Academy where he will get the kind of coaching that will make him a D1 player.
Looks like Gleason and McLeod from Vliet are D1 players too if they have their grades in order.
What is the story on the 6-8 kid from Academy, Jackson?

Another year with Fruscio will help. Jarrell Reid of Troy, John Sica of Bethlehem, Greig Stire of CBA, Brian Brooks of Catholic Central. There are some good prospects, mostly not in the senior class.

Elijah Burns from LASalle is real deal and the current staff have offered him as has JMU and URI I must be missing something. I've seen him play quite a bit and I'm not that impressed. Doesn't appear he can make up his mind if he wants to play the 2, 3 or 4. I do agree the potential is there however he needs someone different mentoring/coaching him. He did play his best game of the year this past Tuesday. I'll get another look at him Saturday at HVCC. should be some great games!

I saw Elijah play twice, both being league games before Christmas. My immediate reaction is that he has talent, but does not play with a fire in his belly. Two games may be too small a sample, and the games were about two months ago, but that was my first impression of him.

Did anyone else go to the Class AA semis last night at the TUC? Jamil Hood Jr from Green Tech is the real deal!!! If Siena isn't on this kid something is wrong. His grades could be the only issue side from the fact he may go much higher.
