Jamion's biggest edge is he's a great leader. All the stuff he does has tangible impacts on chemistry (we had amazing chemistry last year). Chemistry is sometimes more important than talent.

I have to say, I really do not understand JC's career path:
First HC gig is at his alma mater, which you would think is a dream job. Then he comes to Siena which, let's be honest, is basically a lateral move. Of course we all love our school and the potential of our program, but the NEC and MAAC both suck and I can't imagine we offered much more in the way of salary than he was earning at Mount St. Mary's - especially if it's true we still pay Patsos' contract.
Then he leaves us after a year (mofo) to go to George Washington. Yes, the A-10 is definitely a better conference than the MAAC but I really think we have the potential to be the better program long term (suppose this is where my bias comes into play)
The A-10 probably among the best mid major conferences, but doesn't really seem like a tremendous upgrade. Why not stay at MSM and become the next Mark Few, or at least long enough to get a Major offer?

The nec is much worse than the maac, even when the maac is on a downward spiral.

By RPI MAAC is currently ranked 25th of 32, NEC 27th
Regardless of RPI, figure every one bid conference is largely interchangeable. Especially from the perspective of a HC who's career trajectory depends on NCAA tournament

Christian was making $200k when he left Mt St Mary's, I suspect he made double that at Siena and likely doubled his Siena salary in the move to GW: www.app.com/story/sports/college/monmouth-university/2019/03/06/nj-college-hoops-heres-what-local-coaches-making/3077562002/

Wish him the best and I think we're headed in the right direction with Carm.

JC has a coaching "shtick" that he operates by saying all the right things that fans and player want to hear. Same lines and messaging at GW that he used at Siena. When his teams are successful (like only year with Saints) fans will be supportive and like the act, if he is losing they will become tired of the act quickly. Bottom line is he has to win otherwise everything that comes out of his mouth becomes noise and sounds like a bunch of BS. I wish him luck.

Sure doesn’t sound like you wish him luck.....or maybe that was just a sarcastic comment.

Nothing but respect for the job JC did while at Siena he walked into a completely dysfunctional organization and in short order turned it’s culture positive, created a cohesive chemistry and team first environment.
Can’t blame a man for doing right by his family. However with that being said I thought the entire departure could have been handled better.
Best of luck to him!

Says all the right things. I think that approach works great when he is winning, if he is not it sounds like a bunch of hot air and I believe fans will get tired of it quickly. Just my opinion. I hope he does well and believe that Carm is a better long term coach for the Saints as he is committed to staying.

Best of luck to him! do we really know why he left? we assume for family but if that was truly the reason then why not use the family card and explain your abrupt and shocking departure to a fan base, a college and most importantly a TEAM that was idolizing you? It would have solidified his status as a stand up guy. Chump move - actually just immature and not consistent with his schtick.

You don’t have any idea why Jamion left, but that doesn’t stop you from drawing erroneous conclusions and making false characterizations based on zero facts. Great job. 😳
