read the last line this is much much more realistic for Siena- and its a level above the MAAC and a level Siena could compete at "the Washington Post reported the Catholic 7 will try to raid the Atlantic 10 Conference for schools such as Butler, St. Louis, Xavier and Dayton. If that's the case, the Atlantic 10 might be a more realistic option for Siena down the road should the Saints choose to change leagues." m.timesunion.com/tu/db_109218/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=S9kdJD4Q&full=true#display

Come on Tony who wants realism-- we are about to be 6-25 I'm going to have some fun damn it! :-) We will beat Radford or Marist and maybe both... maybe win the PIG round. It's not a big deal but hopefully we can avoid the record for losses. Bob Beyer and Rob Lanier are watching to see if they will remain in the record books! The Catholic-7 thing is a reach but as long as Siena can get a top level coach and start to rebuild quickly joining a revamped A10 is very possible within the next couple of years.

man, the fantasies abound, even in the worst year of siena basketball... This is never happening, at least not with the current "watch" in charge. Siena may get mentioned because they meet the criteria in some aspects, but that is where the comparisons end. How about Siena avoid the roller coaster ride at THIS level before even thinking of the next....

Its shows how foolish the Admin is ! If they have any respect for the Siena community- they will do whatever it takes to get Toole or Paulsen to Siena. And jump to A10/C7 conference ! And stop scewing around with their fanbase !

umm, one head coaching hire will NOT be the reason Siena would move... there are about 1000 moving parts to a move like this... siena is not ready in about 950 of them. Getting a highly sought after coach is just one..... which is why this isn't happening..... the admin is not ready, is not built to BE ready.

We will officially become a laughing stock of the MAAC/NCAA - if we don't make some real changes !

We are suffering through the worst season ever, why can’t we have a little fun. It’s almost insane to think Siena could jump over the A-10 directly into the C7, but what makes this great is that you can create a scenario where and a million things fall into place and Siena gets invited. D’Arg makes a secret trip to DC and is using the media as a smokescreen. The C7 needs one more eastern team to fill out a 6 team division of Catholic schools and Siena falls in their lap. It’s highly unlikely and not realistic at all, but not totally implausible. I love this diversion - it takes my mind off the disaster that is Mitch. The A-10 looks like a realistic possibility now. I’ll be happy to leave the MAAC, but would miss a couple of the rivalry games like Iona, Marist and Niagara. We need to hire a great coach first and get the program back.

Thank God the people who made America great don't think like many of you on this board.... It CAN be done. Not saying it will but it can be and would be great in just a few short years. As Larry the cable guy would say "Get 'er done!"

We will officially become a laughing stock of the MAAC/NCAA - if we don't make some real changes ! Let's settle down a little bit...change is coming and it's coming soon. I'm pretty confident the Siena admin is going to spend good money and get us a really good coach. Who that is - nobody knows. But it shouldn't be anyone who doesn't have D1 head coach experience and wasn't successful at least in relation to what they had to work with. Could be Paulsen, Toole, Neubauer or Warren or someone we haven't even discussed. The conference thing will take care of itself. Siena still is very attractive despite the last three years. All we can hope for is to get our house in order and see how the dominos fall in the next couple of years.
