New rules allow you to return to school after entering the draft. Given how many people believe in him as a prospect, I have no issue with him wanting to test the waters.
Interested to see how many workouts he gets and whether he gets invited to the Combine. As of now, no reason for worry.

Can’t blame him for testing the waters or going for an evaluation and I’m sure he’s being told there is interest .... players can go through the draft and have the ability to return to school if they go undrafted, as long as they inform the school’s athletic director after the draft. Really good player but I just don’t think he’s NBA ready. He’s got a good buzz going now, he’ll find out what he needs to improve on and returns.

Not too worried...I believe this was always a possibly. Just getting feedback is pretty common.
Jalen is a smart guy I believe he'll get the feedback he needs and will return. The day you have to withdraw is May 29 hopefully he commits to officially returning well before that. From what I understand this was not a last minute thing - was the plan for a while.

He won’t like feedback he gets..... Agreed-- but better for him to hear for himself.

A second source saying the exact same thing Kevin Sweeney has above— great job Singelais!

Makes sense to me ... what is the downside?

Carm doesn't sound too worried...this was always the plan but Jalen's illness delayed it.
When he tweeted he would be back I fully expect that to be the case. Sounds just like a chance to get info. It's very commonplace now a days. You can do it twice - the third time you can't go back. So we may see this again.
He's a terrific player but no way ready for the NBA. That said this doesn't hurt anyone as long as he makes a smart decision which I'm sure he will.

Makes sense to me ... what is the downside? Canisius had 2 guys test he water last spring, T. Molson and I.Reese. Both are no longer with the team they were with prior to testing the water, less than a year later. Molson probably told to get to a higher conference and he did, which is probably what Pickett will hear. Reese figured he was ready to go play pro some where already. It's the beginning of the end of JP at Siena.

It's the beginning of the end of JP at Siena. Both are headcases and neither one was a legitimate NBA prospect. Players are doing this more and more and look at the attention Jalen got last year. He might be gone after two years if he blows up next year sure. It will take a first round grade.

Awesome for him, great chance to get feedback from the scouts so go for it Jalen! Selfishly hoping to see him back in the green and gold next year.

Save something crazy going down in the predraft process, Jalen will be back. He’s a legit prospect who also has a lot to work on and wants to know what the NBA wants him to do to get better.
He’s not going anywhere without a team giving him a first round promise and that’s unlikely.
