So is it still looking like Bob Simon and Antoni Wyche as the leading candidates for Carm’s staff?

Yes, staff is Simon (high level recruiter who landed several studs for Providence), Wyche (experienced guy at Lehigh who has tons of Capital Region ties) and Harley Fuller as our 3rd assistant.
Would guess DOBO is a former player, whether that be at Siena or under Carm for the Rocks or another D1 program.

I think a kid with Providence ties is in the mix.

I really hope Steve Cruz gets a chance. He was a great kid when he was here and think he would be a great piece for the future of Siena.

He’s getting pennies for that if anything. He wants to coach, that’s the bottom line. I am pretty sure he tried to get a spot on staff with Jamion and he didn’t get it. Will be interesting this time around.

One thing I will say about Cruz, people absolutely LOVED him on campus. He was like the mayor. Never a bad thing to have one of those guys around.

DOBO is a tough spot since you only make probably 10-12K a year here. You're a glorified gopher/babysitter, so you're probably under 25. Great entry position for anyone looking to get into coaching though, so if you can swing it financially thru your parents, spouse, staying on the couch of a friend locally etc.....go for it. It's obviously not the most important staffing, but he needs to be 100% loyal to the head coach while dealing with players issues.

I hope Carm offers him an opportunity but I also hope Steve does the right thing for him and his new family. If he’s offered and can swing if financially; then I’d love him to be part of the coaching staff; otherwise I won’t hold it against him if now is not the right time for him (financially).

www.google.com/amp/s/www.timesunion.com/sports/amp/Fuller-embraces-new-role-with-Siena-basketball-13771515.phpI like the following: Fuller has already sat down with Maciariello to evaluate each player’s strengths and weakness and develop an individual plan for each to improve his game during the offseason. “We’ve started some individual workouts and stuff with the guys, which I really enjoy, and something I’ve done in the past,’’ Fuller said. “(Fuller) was really integral in our operations this year and so when you’re director of operations at a program, you’ve around the team a lot,’’ Maciariello said. “Communicating with them a ton … So to be able to bring Harley in and elevate him to an assistant coach was huge, because the guys trust him and believe in him and have a great rapport with him.” Fuller has gotten to know new Siena assistants Antoni Wyche, a Bishop Gibbons graduate, and Bob Simon. He spent time with Wyche at the Final Four in Minneapolis and had dinner with both men last week. “They’re both great guys, high-energy, highly motivated and just great down-to-earth, hardworking people,” Fuller said. “I’m excited for that. They’re what we need here to continue pushing things in the right direction.”
