I like the offer - he reminds me a bit of Nelly Jr Joseph at Iona... But where is the scholarship coming from - I thought we were all filled? And if he decides to come this year, even just to redshirt rather than prep school, let's get him here ASAP for summer workouts! We have 13 scholarships accounted for… but Nick Hopkins’ spot does not count because he’s using the COVID year, so we can take a 14th if we want.

And without knowing all the details, just a thought here given the makeup of our current roster.....would he be more appropriate for next year? But that comes with a risk that he could really blow up and sign higher. I agree that with another year he’d be even better for us but I like the fact that the staff seems to be a good judge of talent and I agree that if we can steal him from other better schools by offering a year earlier; then I saw let’s go for it too.

As far as I know, Arrington isnt on the team so we have one open scholarship.....IF he is, why have 4 guys that can only play the 5?

You may ultimately be correct but as of today he’s still on Siena’s 21-22 roster.

Carm reaches out to a 6'9" rebounding/shotblocking forward.....finally Kevin Kalu from Hargrave Military Academy is a '22 kid to do a year of prep, but we have offered him the opportunity to play THIS YEAR!. Guess he averaged 16/16/3 last year. Was the DPOY for Mt. Carmel in the Baltimore Catholic league. (LOVE everything Im hearing! Elon, George Mason, Marist, FAU & Radford also have offered. From his video, he looks exactly what we need. Long and athletic. Isn’t that the same school that Justin Webster and Joel Green came from? Hope we far better this time around than the last two. 🙂

VC has Arrington listed as a walk-on. If he stayed for 21/22 would that still be the case?
Also AW had a hand in recruiting quite a few players on this roster, is it conceivable that we’re losing someone?

Everyone is at workouts from all reports.

Arrington was a walk on last year, with the understanding he'd go on scholarship this year. What happened to change his situation is anybodys guess. The Arrington answer is evident with the signing of the kid from Gannon to be our 3rd center. No way Carm ties up 4 scholarships with 4 kids that can only play center.

If Siena offered Kalu for 2021 they must have a scholarship available or maybe Arrington is getting a Covid year scholarship that doesn't count.

If the offer was made for 2021 Carm must have a scholarship available somehow. It doesn't matter how as long as it is there. It is a good sign that he is striving to improve the team at every opportunity. I don't know how the covid year works but I thought that you had to stay at the same school, but if not maybe Tertsea is a covid no count scholarship, but as I said it doesn't matter how one is available, just that it is. Now we have to sign the kid.
