Looks like we are hosting a team camp this weekend. My understanding of these events is that high school teams travel to campus and play multiple games against other programs they’d never face otherwise. Meanwhile, our coaches get to watch tons of players and see if any pique their interest.
This is so awesome. We are getting literally tons of kids on campus (even if they never play college basketball, they probably will get a chance to see the campus), get to see recruits in a competitive setting, and JC and staff get a chance to build relationships with high school coaches around the northeast.
Yet another reason why I love this staff. They continue to grind and put in the extra effort. I don’t remember team camps under JP or Mitch, anyone remember if we’ve done these in the past.

Mitch did this one year and had kids like Tyler Lyndon, Kevin Degnen and Quincy McKnogjt on campus all of whom were Siena targets at that time. I always wondered why it wasn’t continued. I also think the program should do something similar to the legends game to get fans hyped over the summer and keep the generational bonds going.
These guys get it

After 8 long years so great to have a strong coaching staff. JC has done everything right so far. Now we just need to sign a big time class in the fall. Two studs, a really good player and a solid depth guy would be great. Don't know what to expect this year but some fun and getting the foundation down. If we sign a big class (as expected) we can contend by year two. Go Saints!!!!!!

Always going to be hard to land one stud let alone 2 but if the staff can land Mika Adams Woods in the upcoming class with a few solid players it would certainly become easier to land elite talent down the line

I will reiterate, in my opinion Siena desperately needs a big next year. Fisher and Degnan are gone after this year, that leaves Seymour and Friday (who will be a senior for next year. So at the 4/5 Friday/Seymour and a freshman, unless there is a transfer in the works. Not good.

this is great, and much like the GYMRAT challenge (which unfortunately Siena/D1 can no longer host or be a main site)............another great opportunity to see talent on the hardwood...........oh, and the coaches did see kids in May when the GymRat played locally at various sites anyway (some were even held on the upper level of the Capital Center which had 3 courts, amazing).................

So at the 4/5 Friday/Seymour and a freshman, unless there is a transfer in the works. Not good. Don’t necesssrily disagree, but there’s virtually nothing out there that would be anything more than a lottery ticket. I through out the name Josh Mballa who would be an intriguing get, but otherwise there’s no one out there who would be better long term than whoever we can get for 2019. This is where missing on Zdor hurt a bit. He was probably the best chance we had at a MAAC level big man recruit. But, you can’t win them all. Good news is Siena is likely to play 3 and 4 guard looks with guys like Huerter, Seymour, Shivers or Camper at the 4, so you only are playing 1 big. And if we are in position to contend, a grad transfer big might be a possibility as a stopgap while the staff develops their 2019 big.

We will also be hosting an elite camp. Yet another chance to get tons of prospects to campus and evaluate them.

Although it says open to all boys 9-12th grade I assume they have to say that for NCAA rules

All this is great and you could have all the visits and potential recruits on campus but if they don't choose Siena what's the point. Just saying. The prior staffs got ripped for not landing recruits. So far I'm not impressed by the signings. Just my opinion before you all start ripping me.

As the last five years confirmed, if they didn't visit it was essentially a certainty that they wouldn't choose us...your reviews track like that of a movie reviewer - a bad review usually means a winner of a show...JMO...

[twitter url="https://twitter.com/coachh_fuller/status/1013512446290653184"] We will also be hosting an elite camp. Yet another chance to get tons of prospects to campus and evaluate them. Will this be open to the public? Quick someone tell D'Arg he can sell tickets and MP and I will serve up the popcorn!
