Rider is an interesting matchup for us. They draw a lot of fouls but they don't make their FTs. So when Siena puts them on the line it may not hurt so much.
They play a fair amount of zone and teams generally shoot fairly well from three against them.
Rider is winning because of the possession battle. They outrebound teams, take care of the ball, and get steals.
Siena might be able to keep the rebound battle close enough that if they manage to take care of the ball 2 games in a row...Siena might be able to pull off a shocker.
If Jimmy uses the same rotation as last game and the other guards play well enough that Shivers doesn't play much, perhaps they could take care of the ball well enough to make this a game.

Ok thanks KK I'm in with another 3pt win if he doesn't play zone. And keeps Jordan out the lane mix it up if he plays man majority toast.Jordans not a good shooter and looks more to facilitate.Smithen can't get into foul trouble.Prince again proved the numbers right 54.5% at the rim top 10 for the worst in the country. And the 3pt numbers proved right again 36.8%

Maybe that's what you're trying to say. I think you try to double every post feed they have and strip them. If they're going to beat you, make them beat you from three. And just hope that Jordan Allen and Vaughn etc..have an off shooting game. If Siena is going to let them get easy 2's with and 1's...we're toast. Everything they take inside of 15 ft needs to be over 2 guys.

Aside from playing hard, which our kids do almost all of the time, one key element of winning basketball is concentration/focus - the kids have to devote all of their attention to the play at hand - the muscle memory will take over when called on - the key is keeping your head up, having the play called burned into your grey cells, your eyes open and execute. One of the big drawbacks to how so-so's teams have played is the almost constant practice of bringing the ball up and then looking back/over to the bench to see what to call - focus is gone, if in fact it ever existed. Wasn't as obvious last night but I was watching on a jittery, at best, feed. Bench calling of plays is a reality but it has to be done quickly each possession with exceptions only when the opponent does something unanticipated or out of synch with the play called. Seeing our staff last night gathering at the start of each TO with so-so and talking BEFORE engaging with the playing group seemed to be a positive and we came out of a lot of them more coordinated than games past. The little things matter. Adjusting a starting lineup only based on the most recent practice hasn't worked so well this year. Pick 5, stick with them and good things just might continue to happen.

Rider is probably the best team in the league so I expect a double digit beat down on the road.

Rider is tough because they have so many 6-6 athletes who defend multiple positions and can create off the bounce. Combine that with Stevie Jordan and an elite shooter like Jordan Allen and you are in business. I think you have to force them to beat you with the jump shot. Matchups are tough if we play a second big the majority of the night, but we will probably need to for help on the glass. Zone it up to protect Prince or Fisher from having to defend in space.
Tough game in a tough place to play but have to hope we compete and are in it until the end.
