Did You guys know the SIENA FIGHT SONG had two verses?
Put on your old green bonnet With the yellow ribbon on it And we’ll drink 6 friars to the grave
Though we ain’t got knowledge We’re a damn good college
S-I-E-N-A
Put on a brown paper bag With a big frown on it, And we’ll play 2-3 zone all day,
Though we ain’t got no wins Please forgive us of our sins
WE-SUCK-EVERY-DAY

Gosh I miss that song. Every game the student section sang it out loud and clear at the ARC, with the band playing along. There was real atmosphere at the ARC, without all the horsecrap gimmicks.

Yeah, going to the Knickerbocker, Pepsi, TU Center was supposed to help our image along with appealing to a higher level or recruit. Good idea but 2 legs on a 4 legged chair doesn't work.
We would have the "DEAD SQUAD" leading the crowd that normally would sit on their hands. When we started losing they stopped coming and never came back even with Fran. A big regret that I have is that they were right in back of me in 105 and I never thanked them.

Jim Coyne built it, Mike Deane filled it.

We loved doing the DEAD Cheer and are appreciative of the support we received. Not everyone was fond of it. Things change and with lots of losses, the DEAD list got so small, it seemed silly to have a 4 team dead cheer. There have been thoughts of bringing it back, but I think the ""Dead Cheer = DEAD" Still there, still supporting the Saints

That Dead Zone cheer was the most fun event at the arena and it had nothing to do with marketing and was a spontaneous creation of a few fans. I used to sit near them and loved the cutout helmet and references to Animal House. These days you couldn't do something like that; the PA announcer never shuts up.
