So much wrong with this story--of course its not just this year, all Mitch B teams going back to his FF struggled on the road. Easy answer for this- teams shoot better at home, its a documented fact. Mitch teams always struggle to score and that gets magnified on the road As for Brookins- it is known he has a bad back yet Mitch insists on playing him 37-38-39 min a game I so cant wait to get rid of this coach- I cant stand listening to his excuses and B/S--- its always someone else fault. www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Siena-travels-the-lost-road-4207371.php

I hope OD's ankle is nothing serious. I'm certain the frustration of this season led him to twist his personality as well and get tossed! I wasn't thrilled by his forced (I'm guessing) presence at the post game presser on Thursday. I bet he would have loved to say something like "I wish we could just play the game the way WE want and can!" Waiting for the inevitable gets more painful with each upcoming game! It's troubling when the ONLY way to try other player combinations is via illness or injury.

At this point it is in doubt that the team will have 5 players able to play by the time the season is over. This of course is another hallmark of Mitch as coach. His insistence of running his starters to the ground starts off okay then gradually slides downhill as the season wears on. The minor injuries mount and it becomes harder and harder to put forth the level of intensity necessary to win a division one basketball game. It is not the only problem, of course, but it is a problem.

Siena on road last eight games (0-8)
USD 77-60 Maine 72-66 St Bonaventure 58-43 Manhattan 75-55 Fordham 81-75 Rider 72-53 Niagara 87-64 Canisius 76-44
That's a 138 point beat down over 8 games, 17 points per game. You guessed it, the next home road defeat would equal Bob Beyer's low point on the road, a 9 game road losing streak which occurred during the 1995-1996 season. That team lost by 119 points over the span, so Mitch already has him beat there. Good grief.

Frustration has set in all the way around. yes it has.....'our' kids have until Friday to try to recoup and find something within themselves to face Niagara at home. There will be no moral victories and most likely, no W's for the next week barring some miracle physical and mental healing.

Mitch was quoted in Saturday's Gazette as saying with Brookins' tenuous back, he expected to play him only 7-12 minutes against Canisius. Of course then he goes and plays him 17 minutes in the first half, Brookins hurts his back even more, so even Mitch woudn't play him in the second half. Nice job Mitch. Hope the kid isn't finished again.
