Saints down 6 at the half - OD and Hymes playing pretty well. Zone defense of course gives up a ton of open threes which Niagara is knocking down. Mitch seems to do better when he has only 7 guys to play!

Niagara up 57-39 under 16 to go... Niagara announcers can't believe Siena won't come out of the 2-3 zone defense as the Purps keeping nailing open threes.

No worries Mitch is a zone guy.. Niagara might get tired from chucking so many wide open 3's..LOL

Don't take too much from this--even when we were good Siena took some ass kicking up there. Looks like Mitch gets another record.. biggest loss ever to Niagara..old record was 21 point ass kicking Lanier took in 2001. Does show the difference between a decent well coached team-- and a Mitch coached team

Silas and Bisping played pretty well... Little things guys...
Siena now must go 11-1 to have a chance at a winning record (or a .500 record).

Niagara shot as if they were the only team on the court during a shoot-around thanks to Siena's feared zone defense.

When you have two midgets on top that don't close out well, these type of shooting nights by the opponents is really no surprise.

That was men against boys last night. The physical size and quality of players that Niagara has is quite impressive. Even with Poole and Oliver in this one we lose by 10. Coaching aside the difference in the caliber of players was evident last night. We got schooled!

The fact of the matter is other than OD we don’t have much talent and we have a coach with a “system” better suited to 1970’s era college basketball. A time when ball control, zone defense and don’t play freshmen was in vogue. This team will pull a few more “upsets” but that’s all they will be, Mitch’s style pretty much guarantees that ..in 6 weeks it will be all over and we can look forward to rebuilding

I'm pretty damn sure Mitch was hyping how his guards are finally learning his zone and are now disruptive at the top. You guys need to just lay off. I know, you know and everyone else knows this is a pretty damn good D2 team

Niagara looks great in shoot-around, which is essentially what this game looked like.
Congrats to Bisping for being the first Siena Freshman to crack 10 points this season. I was a little surprised he wasn't getting more time at the "3" in lieu of Audu, who struggled last night. Was unfortunate since this game was essentially in his back yard.
Hymes had a decent game with 8 assists and only two TO's. Brookins had a nice little stretch in the 1st half where he looked like the best player on the court, only to essentially disappear for the remainder of the game.
It's tough to win at Niagara but that was a real poor showing, especially defensively.
The MAAC has found Mitch's weakness: Basketball.
