Uh oh, we beat Fairfield twice this season so guess that means we are screwed by the rule of three.

I'm not, there were people suggesting that we were more likely to beat Monmouth in the MAAC Tournament if we lost to them twice in the regular season. I think that is a bunch of hogwash but those same people don't seem to be worried that having swept Fairfield in the regular season means we are going to lose to them on Saturday. Contrary to popular belief, what I post on this message board has no actual bearing on whether Siena wins or loses games.

Stags will present a stiff challenge no doubt, Nelson has been great all yr.............but the way Siena has played down the stretch, and playing at home, that is a huge advantage.........it will take Fairfield to play their best game of yr that night to come out with a win, and I don't think they are capable of it.........we can really use our skill in the frontcourt to control that game............only wildcard might be Mitch B coming up with a solid gameplan against us.............TBD

I'm taking nothing for granted with this team.
I just hope to beat FF.
I expect a 15 pt loss vs. Monmouth should they face them the next day on the shortest of rests.
I hope to be proven wrong but I think this tournament was officially lost on Friday.

But I think tournament was lost long before last friday- very disappointing regular season

And even that extra few hours of rest matters. They really needed to be the 2 seed though given the depth. I just don't see how they can beat Monmouth with an energy deficit.

The FF game will be a challenge. If they are hitting their 3's, the Stags are a pretty good team. I expect Siena to win but it won't be easy.
If Siena gets by FF, I expect Siena/Monmouth #3 to be every bit as entertaining and competitive as the first two games were (well, game 1 though 30 minutes) The longer the Saints can hang around, the more the pressure mounts on Monmouth especially given their failure to win last year. Never underestimate that.

Seems to be a lot of rumbling about the 'at home' factor again. Just observation. I think the Nassau County experiment next year will turn into a tournament opportunity for downstate. Again, just my opinion, but I will put it out there.

Wouldn't it be nice after Siena beats Fairfield that Quinnipiac or Niagara shocked Monmouth I mean that's why they call it March Madness...
Some Siena MAAC tournament facts:
Siena's MAAC tournament record since 1998 (when MAAC went to 10 teams) is 31-14 (.689) but only 5-6 since 2010.
First round: 5-1 Quarterfinals: 13-5 Semifinals: 8-5 Championship: 5-3
@ TUC 21-6 @ other venues 10-8
MAAC tournament record since 1998 vs. Fairfield 4-1 (last meeting 2010 MAAC title game)
