St. Peters only has a 40% FG% overall and shoots just 43.5% from 2pt land. You DO NOT let them get easy 2's and you do not want to put them on the line. If they beat you, they beat you from three. Put the pressure on their jump shooters to beat you and utilize the size advantage. Zone, zone, zone. With less depth..can't afford fouls or to waste energy in man to man. The zone accentuates Siena's advantages over SPU and helps minimize the weakness. If SPU beats us, let it be from three point land. Agreed but would add one thing. This is a game where ball control is especially important. St Peters struggles to score in the half court, need to stay away from turnovers and poor shot selection that turns into transition opportunities. If Siena could also create some easy offense via turnovers, that would be kind cool too. Peacocks are and always have been a half court team..........they are methodical and muck the game up...............Dunne stresses the defense more and it fits the roster most seasons.......................Zone is definitely what we should be playing in most games, certainly there are times to go man to switch it up but that tends to get us in foul trouble so without Quis & Nico that makes the quality depth razor thin for avoiding fouls..............Patsos even went from the 2-3 he likes to play to a 3-2 against dirty Bronc's which was terrific.........3/4 court press should also be employed, not so much for causing turnovers but winding down the clock and thus giving less time for an already offensively challenged Peacock team to try & score......

It would be a nice surprise to win tonight- I don't expect it with 'Quis out and SPU being a house of horrors. If we can win it- it would be tremendous. SPU is hot and we barely beat them at home. If we go 1-1 the next two on the road (St. Peter's and Manhattan on Sunday) I would be more than happy. Siena needs to go 8-4 to finish 13-7 which could get them into the top 3 not to mention having an overall winning record going into the tournament.
SPU doesn't score a lot so they are vulnerable to getting beat despite their tough defense. But can Siena get to 65-70 points tonight without Wright? Will take big games out of Long, Bisping and JO and either Richard or Smithen hitting some outside shots.

Fisher has 8 pts and 9 boards in his last 30 mins. That's useful.

Fisher has 9 boards in his last 30 mins. That's useful. also EF has hit his last 2 three balls..........so he is picking his spots for those attempts..........comes with confidence and of course more minutes on the floor which to be fair to him, he has definitely earned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's contributing. But, to be fair, if Friday or WB were getting those same minutes sitting in the zone...who is to say their numbers wouldn't be similar or better?

We NEED Lavon to play with the same intensity he had last game. He's all-MAAC when he plays that focused.

Absolutely the minute WB gets over 10min (FGCU) he puts up 7 pts shoots 100% from the floor, looked pretty good and what does he get for that effort more bench time, if he got Fishers minutes he'd be shaking of game rust and getting better. Not saying WB is a star but he's as good as Evan. I know Evans playing better but some of those boards he's had the past 2 games have just about landed in his lap and he made one 3 and clanked a 3 vs Rider. The one area that I thought Evan did an admirable job was against Thomas when he had him in the paint in the second half. He did use his size and played well against him. Looks like WBs the next casualty and the next to go and it sure looks by design.

No doubt the kids got a ton of athleticism but from what I've observed doesn't have much court awareness, especially on defense. I suspect this is why he's glued to the bench. If the freshmen can handle the ball and limit turnovers we will be able to compete with SP. If not, on to Sunday.
