After reading the Nico news, once again it reminded me of how great it has been to have Brett, Lavon, Quis, and JO for their careers here at Siena. All four of them have certainly given me some GREAT memories of Siena basketball. I am glad that they came to Siena, stayed at Siena, and will graduate from Siena, and that is why I root for a mid-major because college, a degree, and an education are still part of the equation, the way I believe it should be.
This year can still end on a high note for these four great kids, and it all starts Sunday at Fairfield! Good luck to our seniors and all the Saints - make this year special - and it all starts Sunday at the Stags.

Well said! I feel as though Nico stepping away could be good for the team. Sometimes guys become more of a distraction and we will see how their play changes. I think they will be a more cohesive unit without him. Let's rock the house and give our 4 seniors some good final memories and let's also find some guys that are ready to step up!

My hope is that these kids turn this season around, and that there is some serious soul searching on the part of the administration at the end of the season.
I do not believe that Siena should have 'disposable' players and a revolving carousel of coaches (sans moving on up to better opportunities), much like as referenced in another thread- a never ending draw poker hand- just discard and re-draw. D-1 coaches aren't 'dealt' their hand- they select it.

I'm sorry - and Jimmy Tennis as well! I was talking with Jimmy's Dad before the game. Told him I was hoping Siena gets up by 20 or so, the last 5 mins in order to get Jimmy at least 3-4 mins of some serious playing time. Note to Jimmy P and team, remember the more games we keep the peddle to the metal the more mins we might be able the provide to one of our great SRs.

Just thought it was an appropriate time to bump this thread as tonight at the TUC, a person connected with the team told me again what great people these seniors are, and that is what I have heard and experienced from so many. Wish them all the best, they all deserve it.
