Youre saying it's possible that Patsos denied a RS request made by Nico due to his knee issue. No. Thats not what I'm saying. In case you haven't noticed, BB has a unhealthy infatuation with destroying our HC, and I would bet he/she would say virtually anything to put a bad light on JP. Think about it. IF this story had any truth to it, Nico would have been out of there Dec 14th looking for a new school. IF Nico was your son, is he playing 7 games during the break, or legit shopping from his Md home as he starts his Jan-Jan RS. Thanks for the clarification I would hope that wouldn't have been true

Great road win. Hopefully, the start of getting back on track and more wins. Sounds like a good team effort and amazing what happens when you hit your free throws. Hard to believe a month ago Nico had 33 and is now on indefinite leave. Best wishes for him to get his shit together (on and off the court, if necessary) and get back to contributing to this team. Hopefully, the Athletic Dept still provides support in that work. Also, getting that knee fully healthy will help as well.

One of Nico's uncles was at the FF game (from NJ but drove up from MD that morning). Apparently, Nico didn't respond to his uncle's text Sun morning when he texted Nico letting him know he was driving up to the FF game. I felt bad for the guy when we told him that Nico didn't make the trip. Don't know why Nico didn't respond to let his uncle know he wouldn't be there (save him the trip up from MD).

The fact that he didn't respond speaks about his character and self-centricity.

Sky; I have been with his family at games (last season) when he boarded the bus knowing that they were waiting for him outside the locker room without notifying any of them, including his grandfather. That spoke volumes.

No excuse ... But this season must be tough on him after the numbers he put up last year ... He has played frustrated not being able to replicate them ... Alienating his teammates didn't help matters either ... Appears with no contact w family recent decision fell all on him ... If he comes back he must know that he will be on a short leash ... Personally I hope he takes this second chance ... In life that doesn't happen too often ... I commend Siena in not making it solely a basketball decision

I hope you shared what is in the public arena in our area about his nephew's troubles with his uncle as the reason his nephew wasn't there. I don't like posting negatives about one of our players but this can't be ignored. We are talking about a sophomore in college, an adult on paper at least. It is obvious that the player in question lacks the courage to bring his self-imposed problems and their outcomes to the attention of his FAMILY. We aren't talking about ignoring annoying texts or tweets from MTS - we are talking about not having the decency to contact his uncle, a family member who was making a rather long and arduous (I hate driving through NYC) trip solely to watch him and he doesn't have the testicular fortitude to return his text and tell his uncle that he won't be there. Beyond shameful! I was hoping the kid would get his act squared away and wise up - but those thoughts/wishes are gone. Don't let the door to the ARC hit you on your ass on the way out Nico.

I realize you were likely reading my post while basking in the glow of your Red Foxes win at Niagara and your brain was over taxed doing multiple tasks simultaneously but can you explain what led you to believe I was involved in a player's life. The facts of Nico's departure, including the timing, were published in our local rag (TU). The post I was reading (by IS) relayed the story about HIS interaction with Nico's uncle at the Fairfield game. I did not meet the uncle and was merely commenting on yet another example (as relayed by IS) of the kid's (Sky doesn't see Sophomores as adults) poor behavior which added to the basis for GB's earlier comment on such. Enjoy your recent win, it should help you resist trolling our Board.....

No I didn't share the reason - I already felt bad for the uncle. I agree and one of the reasons I posted this. I was shocked.

My Mom was talking with his uncle (like she talks with any (and all fans in our cheering action she doesn't already know) and introduced me to him. All I said was that's too bad that he came up all that way to watch Nico play when Nico didn't make the trip. However, I do agree kids should have the decency to respond to a text (or phone call) when you know a family member is driving to watch you play and you know you won't be there.

I think Jimmy handled the Nico situation as well as he could. Let's face it, without Nico the team is in big trouble next year. So Jimmy had to throw away his potential savior for the future to try and salvage this season. After Nico's 33 point performance against Fairfield there were many of us on here that would have dumped all the seniors just to build around Nico. Had he tried to bench Nico shortly after that game there would have been even more outraged fans calling for his head. He let it play out on the court until it became apparent to even the biggest Nico supporters that the team was playing better without him. Then he made the move to bench him, knowing what sort of situation it will put the program in for next year, a year in which his job security will be at an all time low. It was a gutsy move to make but I am glad he made it.

Couldn't agree more with the "gutsy" call regarding Nico and the programs future. However the chemistry issue just didn't develop, has been festering in my opinion since the return of MW last year. This is no way to say anyone should blame MW, he gives it all. The coach staff should have recognize there is was a chemistry personnel challenge. Oh, BTW did JP make the call or did D'Arg and the admin? Candidly not sure, nor does the presser really lend itself who did.
