This team has GOT to step up defensively- They also seem to get into foul trouble a lot. Maybe they need to go deeper into the bench if that's what they need to do to play D. They never seem to get that necessary defensive stop when needed.

Both due to Clareth's suspension and Wright's unusual slump in this area...Siena's top 2 ballhawks haven't been stealing the ball at the clip they usually do. I expected to be getting another 2 steals per game than what they've done to date.
Also, while we're blocking shots ok...Siena can do more...Clareth and Long being out...and then Fisher playing so much have contributed. Same with rebounding.
So in the 3 key defensive areas statistically...Saints have underperformed their own historical capabilities.
This same Siena team is capable of a top 100 defense. Hopefully, they start playing like it.

Patsos can't & shouldn't play any more than 8 & if you're fouling that much, your not playing D correctly.

If Siena is going to succeed, they need to take one of the best , if not the best , point guards in the league and move him to the 2 guard spot. Then hand over the reins to a freshman point guard who didn't play basketball all last year because of an injury, and then take one of your highest scorers from last year, the most energetic player on the team, and bring him off the bench. What? You mean they are doing that! How's that working out for them? How's the chemistry?

It's one thing if this was a team that was never good at the things it's not doing well or was young and unproven...but this team has not only done all these things...but it has excelled at all the things that it's currently struggling with.
And it's also extremely rare for a Patsos coached team in general to be this bad at defending the 2. (average rank is 136th over 13 years)
The only thing I worry about Siena's D is this:
It was ranked:
-55th in JP1 (with healthy Bisping) -253rd in JP2 (without Bisping) -89th in JP3 (with healthy Bisping) -235th in JP4 (limited Bisping)
So there's an established pattern somewhat linked to Bisping's contributions....
