Siena freshman forward Sammy Friday is wearing a gold jersey in practice today. Could move ahead of Evan Fisher as first big man off bench.

I have not had the chance to see any of our games this year...I can only go by what I've read on here and other media, so I am pretty apprehensive about this game. Bona board calls this a winnable and must-win game for them. Schmidt reloads every year with a few jucos, so they will be tough, but hopefully, St Francis smiles on the Saints again this year. Although I am a bit under the weather, nothing will keep me away from the Reilly Center tomorrow night. We need to keep at least one Cup in Loudonville!

Expect a rowdy student crowd tonight, this will probably be the most difficult environment we will play in the rest of the season...but we won here two years ago, and certainly can again. I would like to see the senior leadership step up tonight.

I am not sure if this has ever been mentioned, but does anyone think the age of the coaching staff is ever an issue? I looked quick and most of our assistants are "kids" for the most part. Part of the issue there is they may be less inclined to speak up to Jimmy or try and do things (or have the experience) on their own..... Iona has a seasoned top assistant who has been around forever. Monmouth also has a seasoned assistant... FF has several. For a HC who lacks in some major areas, strong veteran asst's would be ideal..... (and may help w/ recruiting)

So the lineup is now Wright, Shivers, Long, Bisping, JO. Then Clareth and Friday come in first off the bench followed by Richard and Smithen.
I like this. It helps the D I think.
JP may be trying to minimize the small backcourt. Either he puts Wright and Clareth in at the same time and goes all out or he splits them up so there's always at least one of them out there at all times. I agree that he has to split Wight and Richard up more. I think that's been part of the issues too. They can be shot over as a tandem and you also want to protect your bigs more early.
I think this is a smart move. You should have either Shivers or Smithen start. It also keeps your second best passers in reserve so they're always fresh for when Wright comes out.
Smithen and Richard can now actually play together and you can have 2 PGs & Clareth replace Wright so you don't lose any ball handling and actually get a faster overall backcourt when he and Long to the bench.

I'm still a big fan of Richard, Shivers is the only one that takes it to the hoop but I think Richard is well ahead of him at this point. Either way Patsos should stop with the cute stuff and just start his best 5 which certainly includes Nico.

Time to build some continuity. I wouldn't go deeper than 3. Our bench has not proven to be productive.
