Well if there is any silver lining in this it is that it happened this year and not next year. With the four seniors the team can get by this year with a less than 100% Nico. Next year that won't be the case as Nico is really going to have to carry the load.

Unless there's some talent coming to replace the seniors, Nico could retire to Bora Bora after this year and it wouldn't make much of a difference. I'd rather we get the title then care about the difference of 10-10 vs. 6-14 the following year.

I'm no doctor but he should be fine... if it's 3 months that puts you right at the beginning of September. Then you still have two months before the season begins. Better that Nico is getting it done now rather than going overseas and having it flair up there.
As far as 2017-18 goes yes Siena loses a lot of talent but there should be no reason for a big drop off.
That's why Jimmy needs to nail this recruiting class with three studs this fall. Returning players will be Nico, Wormley, Smithen, WB, Joseph, Degnan, Fisher, Richard/Huerter/Friday will have a year under their belts.
I still expect Siena to be one of the better teams in the league as long as we get some impact frosh to go along with our older starting line-up.
But I agree 2016-17 is our best chance for a MAAC title since 2009-10 our last championship.

I'm one of the foolish people still clinging to the belief that Siena could have sustained success instead of one good year every four years.

Not to mention history (Loyola and Siena teams) tells us the roster will look different in 2 years from now. We need to win when we can while we have the players we have. Maybe get another freshman to start with clareth and fill in with the role players/transfers and be a competitive team again
