Really classy we have some "fans" speculating about players academics. I think some people need to take a deep breath and think before posting.

And we have some "fans" speculating about why players are leaving. I guess you could say we have a well rounded "fan" base as we have strong feelings about both ends of the student/athlete equation! Some of us get our facts from the kids and their families - where do you get your "facts"?

Really, who is in trouble and cite your source. Shocked that all of you know it all apologists for anything Patsos wouldn't know what many of us know nothings actually know! Know what I mean? No. Please educate those of us not connected and 'in the know'. Seems like everybody is speaking in code lately.

Really classy that MTS goes on maac board stating that Wornley is most likely transferring then scolds this board He is so wrong on so many things - the only things he gets right are things he co-opts from others. Lucky for him that JP has enough hot air to keep the bubble MTS lives in inflated! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

We have to use code in these troubled times with so many security concerns.
I was referring to the tendency for those that damn those of us that dare to criticize JP and how he runs OUR program, to do so even though they have no basis for their position. Seems like a winning record now is the measuring stick turning green and gold glasses into smoked glass - useful for watching solar eclipses at about the same frequency a .500 coach might get us into a tournament starting with an "N"!

Here is the obvious solution. NCAA, NIT, NCBI and NCIT. That way everyone is satisfied. ;-)

So any update on Vann. Is he planning a visit? TU said we have expressed interest but Vann's former AAU coach didn't mention Siena as an option. I'd really hate for this kid to land at Iona. Would love to see him in the green & gold.

This coming from a real stand up guy that didn't dare to criticize Mitch on this blog but instead behind his back through "his many connections" behind the scenes(in his own words). Something that really can't be confirmed- how convenient. By the way it was well known that Mitch read the blogs so maybe not criticizing him publicly was more self serving than compassionate.

This coming from a real stand up guy that didn't dare to criticize Mitch on this blog but instead behind his back through "his many connections" behind the scenes(in his own - ords). Something that really can't be confirmed- how convenient. By the way it was well known that Mitch read the blogs so maybe not criticizing him publicly was more self serving than compassionate. You are correct re MB1 and MB2 - MB1 my position was give him a chance, MB2 my position considered the high number of impactful injuries and the results. Mid MB3 my position shifted due to things I didn't like on the practice floor. Hate to bust your bubble Skip but this blog, although informative and the platform for insightful debate re Siena hoops, carried little, if any, weight in influencing the decisions being considered at Siena. Many on this Board severely criticized the decision to hire MB from day 1 and their "opinions" were never seriously in play. The powers to be (code - the people at Siena with the power to make the change-Board members, AD, College President) were getting strong feedback from many influential backers (donors, sponsors, influential alumni) including some on this board. Those back channel communications were the effective ones. True, you can't confirm what I say and I understand your skepticism. For the record, I was on the SA Council and we met with MB during the hiring process prior to the public announcement - I had questions for him based on my concerns (observed during the years he was with Fran at Siena) re his attention to detail, his work ethic and his ability to delegate - he understood the basis for my questions and gave acceptable answers. I do not for a minute believe we (SA Council) were the decision makers - it was merely a formality/nicety. Because of that involvement I felt talking directly to several of the decision makers was a way to being heard - at that point I really believed he should be let go. And yes, MB read or was aware of the negativity on this Board from day one. It concerned him and, quite frankly, he didn't understand it early on - he truly thought the resurrection of his Fairfield failures was grossly unfair. As the criticism continued, no matter what he or the team did, it put additional strain on him - that was quite obvious and not helpful. Not blaming them just stating what was taking place. Turns out the early critics were correct and the rest is history. OBTW, I have expressed concerns re JP1 and JP2 to the folks at Siena that may have been able to make some changes. When JP3 emerged, I saw many positive changes. I do not, in any way shape or form, attribute any or all of the changes to my comments but they did add to the pile being built by the same folks that got MB removed. When JP3 started to morph back into what I saw as JP2 I posted my views here and to folks at Siena. I will continue to do that and have tried to keep the negativity more vanilla than Trump-like - even with a touch of humor. If you don't want to read my comments - block me - it works.

I think if you took a poll, 3 out of 4 would want us to use his scholarship to make a legit title run next year. Time to fix the mistakes made on the recruiting trail.

I am not doubting it was a mistake, but he's still a member of the team that was promised a scholarship after a walk-on year. Don't we have another deal like that? And while it's good to fix mistakes, even better to avoid them in the future.
