Bad day for Capital Region's best team. As R. Wyland said in his post game remarks not much good to talk about. Too bad U Albany doesn't have a call in show where we could hear the wisdom of their MTS.

Bad day for Capital Region's best team. As R. Wyland said in his post game remarks not much good to talk about. Too bad U Albany doesn't have a call in show where we could hear the wisdom of their MTS. Will Brown is not a bad coach but he is the worst coach to have leading your team. He'll probably win 19 or 20 this season but won't get UA into the NCAAs. They'll probably add a year to his contract. Next year they won't totally stink but lose Iati and Black and they'll be around .500 ...then maybe back to 17 wins - hard to get rid of a Will Brown type and he's only in his early 40s.. he EASILY could be at UA for another 10-12 years. Don't get me wrong I HATE losing but my worse fear was a 15-16 or 16-15 type of season this year and Mitch coming back...not as bad with Brown because Mitch is older but it would be another year waiting to rebuild. If we had gone 9-22 or 10-21 last year instead of 14-17 the rebuilding would have already begun. We all knew early Mitch wasn't the guy to lead our proud program long-term. Interested to hear people's thoughts on this ....sometimes you do have to see the forest through the trees as it is for the program's BEST LONG-TERM INTEREST to succeed.

I don't think 9-22 would have mattered; he was always coming back. He rode that 6 player thing to $400K or whatever he makes. Likewise, I don't think it would have mattered if he went 15-16 this season. He needed to win more than lose in year 3. We shall see though....

We shall see though.... 15-16 worried me because he could have BSed his way into another - year we're young, we've increased the win total every season, blah, blah blah.. You might be right Gorvy...might have taken this type of a season last year to get him fired. Siena usually gives a coach three years - right or wrong. Lanier got his fourth season because he had two postseasons and believe it or not an overall winning record 52-46. Mitch is easily the worst coach next to Bob Beyer. Beyer also got 3 years even after going 5-22 in 1995-1996. But Siena was playing in the ARC then don't know if he would have saw a third season now. The next guy probably gets a 5-year contract to fix this mess. As long as we get the right coach we'll be fine. But it might take some time to get back to winning MAAC titles!
