Relegated to 10-15 min at UNLV and Kansas and still goes around 4-5 pts and 3-4 rebounds per game. In the MAAC and 20+ minutes per game he could have been JO like.

That is an objective post and accurate. On the positive note he's also brought in Wright, Nico and Wormley. I hope Smithen and Joseph work out well. Richards I don't know enough about. A bit more selectivity and diligence will go along way in extending JPs longevity with Siena. Three or four very big shoes to fill next year. Richard seems like a Kidani Brutus/Stephan Jiggets type. He seems like he's got heavy feet and is undersized. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/52436/kidani-brutusHe likely won't rebound well and will probably not be that great on defense based on his HS stats. And his 2 pt finishing ability probably won't be that good. However, he could provide solid 3pt shooting and some ball handling. He seems like a miniature version of Ryan Oliver with all the things that would come with being a miniature version of Ryan Oliver like a little more quickness but being a worse rebounder and less effective shot contester. For a more apt comparison of Richard, think Tay Fisher.

I'm sure the staff see Richard as more than a "filler", but maybe the "filler piece" you describe is a 1/4 court lock down defender needed in end game situations or against teams like St. Peter's and others who play the 1/2 or 1/4 set play offensive. I hope he is more than that, but as you suggest even "fillers" have their value. I don't mean to talk down the kid because if he gets back in game shape, he can help us. I'm just using him as another example of the recruiting strategy. We're always looking up at Iona for a reason. I feel we are capable of landing more Nico's. Well look at the bright side: if he doesn't pan out, you won't be stuck with him long. Patsos will run him off by his sophomore year. That seems to be the way of things around here these days.

I think the Brutus comparison is fair, Khalil is probably a bit more athletic

Here is an even longer shot/impossible shot, but interesting because it would be good karma/payback. 4* twins Calab and Cody Martin from NC State have decided to transfer. Time for Gottfried to pay back Patsos' favor. LOL
PS It won't happen these guys were ACC starters and will go to another BCS program.

Maybe that would make him more palatable to kk. I was 5'10 through most of my teens and showed up for college 6'0 at 18.

We probably shouldn't make a habit on relying on the patented 'Kenny Wormley growth spurt' for our success.

Credit Patsos for chopping off Kenny's head when he showed up on campus, so that he'd regenerate into a longer Wormley.
