Mark Singelais It'd be interesting to see if @sienambb could get Notre Dame for home-and-home once Elijah Burns is playing. That'd sell tickets @tucenter.

Only shot of a home game would be in 2019-20, Burns senior year. We'd have to go there in '18 and '20
They'd only do it for a 2-for-1. Same for Huerter at Maryland (which would be the same set up since they'd be in the same class)
PS-I wouldn't hold my breathe either. IF Siena wouldn't work it out for two Sec 2 kids that were all-time leading scorers at their schools to play home, can't see them doing it for a role player.

I also think teams are much more reluctant to schedule these sort of games since a really good player isn't going to be around for his senior year and a role player is likely to transfer by his senior year. Would be cool if it happened but highly doubt it and like HJ said it would at least be a 2 for 1. Also worth noting that Notre Dame travels to Syracuse in both 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 which they could count as Burns homecoming games.

So all I'm hearing is Patsos can't do this Patsos can't do that ..... Can't work out a 2 for 1 and bring ND and Maryland to the TU, can't land a player if too many programs are involved (even if most of the teams interested are MAAC level competition). Hell Fran landed Ubiles, Basabe and OD when better teams / conferences offered. He also got Syracuse at home. C'mon JP step it up and live up to all the talk when you were hired. Nico's a nice get, bring in some up caliber talent to play beside him for his last 2 - 3 years.

I just looked at the top 20 teams in the RPI. Combined they played a whopping total of 31 non conference road games. Those 31 broke down as follows:
21 against the power 6 conferences 3 against the Atlantic 10 2 against the Missouri Valley 2 against the Mountain West 1 against the American
That leaves exactly two road games played at mid major or lower conferences. The one was at Memphis who has a heck of a lot bigger basketball tradition than Siena. The other was Michigan State playing at Northeastern as part of a 3 sport deal that involved the hockey teams. Last I checked Siena doesn't have a hockey team.
The days of the big schools going on the road to face mid to low majors is over. They've discovered they can play neutral court games against other big schools to help the RPI and that in the end the committee will just dismiss the RPI and look at top 50 wins instead.

Good info Scott ! Very telling as to what reality really is. They want a stacked deck.

IF the NCAA wanted to remedy this, they easily could by designating so many games had to be away against teams of similar or at least just lower caliber competition. Never happen though, just follow the money.

That logic doesn't matter. We're Siena and Pastos needs to step it up and get a few high majors in our building. Tired of excuses. Bring back Fran...wahhhhhhhhh

Great info Scott, thanks. My biggest fear really is that we will achieve that low major status, of course while we pay high major prices. Everyone will have to decide for themselves whether or not the expenditure is worth the entertainment for the level Siena settles at. We're only going where the MAAC takes us and this year our post season teams were less than impressive against NCAA, CIT and CBI competition. With the lone postseason win coming from Monmouth in the NIT. You have to wonder if the ceiling for the MAAC is in its history and not it's future.
