Fair Warning! Went to pick up my tickets I purchased on Friday and they didn't have them. Appears "several" season ticket holders who purchased through the Online Account Manger may have similar issues.

Should have added I was given premium upgrades. Nice but one row in front of where it sit and these premium seats are hard as a rock.

There were plenty of seats to move to. I sat in 106 tonight and usually sit on the opposite side. Looking over there wasn't 500 on the other side.

What surprised me the most was there were very few people in business attire ... Mid-week 7 o'clock game - perfect to catch dinner, game and a few beers after work ... Guess last 6 games of season let the air out of the fan base

My guess was roughly 1000 fans max. This game should have been at the ARC. The folks that were there made some noise but it definitely wasn't the energy normally present.
I am more concerned with the post-game comments. Jimmy said something about coming together as a team on and off the court...that there were factions on the team. That can be death over a long season. I hope the guys all get along but it seems that isn't the case.

Guess last 6 games of season let the air out of the fan base I mentioned this after we lost to Iona. As a low-level tournament, this was a ‘Been there – Done that’ kind of thing. And we even took it as far as it could go then. I really felt that this was a season that we could have just rested up from. I’m sure a lot of fans felt the same way esp after having the conf tournament here. Anything less than the NCAA or NIT was ant-climactic. Marquis was never really the same when he came back and that is not surprising. But when he lost his shoe last night and was hobbling around, my heart was in my throat. He took a couple other spills that had me concerned – we did not need any injuries now. Plus, with the drama surrounding Lavon at the end, I truly believe we did not need any small-time tournament. I went to the game with my kids, but even my heart was not truly into it. A season takes a lot out of everybody; physically, emotionally and financially. Let’s let everybody recharge their batteries and get the hunger back for next year. And for those complaining about the attendance – we still drew many more than a lot of games last night and probably will tonight. Take a look at what Florida St drew to their NIT game. About 450 more than us at a school about 15 times our size in a bigger market. Against Davidson!! It happens. The sky is not falling, nor is there any big indication of where the program is going. We need to relax and get ready for spring and enjoy the Big Dance.

Well, maybe Jimmy is supposed to suggest and expect: A team being provided an essentially free education is supposed to understand their institution coughed up significant monies to bring the game to Albany and fans will pay money to attend so, "go play the game"!!!!! There is no excuse. I paid to watch the fiasco and was rather disappointed.

Yes it was disappointing but a fiasco is a little strong.

I wouldn't call it a fiasco either, but I would not be happy if the school ponied up another 40K should we fall short next year (I didn't think we should this year either). I think it was a combination of some not wanting to play, and REGARDLESS of who they should not have played. Don't think outcome would have been different. Again, concern for me is management of personnel. This isn't high school. You recruited these players, touting their talent. You have used 13 scholarships and defined comparable D-1 Mid Major talent (theoretically) with that expenditure. There should be little reason to limit ones self to an 8 man rotation that is gassed at this point in the season while the bench looks like they could shoot a cover for GQ. The college investment in the staff at this level is to ensure:
- recruitment of student athletes who will be provided a quality liberal arts education gratis for their hard work and good representation - development of those student athletes to the apex of their capabilities (which you were so high on when offering the scholly) - personal growth of those student athletes as they build a foundation for their careers after Siena - the overall development of a basketball program that has sustainable success (top three league 5/7 years, NCAA/NIT at least 3/5 years) with those student athletes who you have asked for and made a commitment to.
All parties have to shoulder responsibility, and all have the right to have expectations (including the fan base). But at this level we have not one and dones, we have occasional prospects to play at the next level and when lightning really strikes you get an NBA draft pick like Jason Thompson or AJ English. We have, for the most part young men who are students and then athletes. The faster everyone gets it the better off we will all be.
