I'm not a fan of pay to play tournaments. Someone trying to make big $$$ off of school's fandom. Two years ago when MB had trashed our program, I thought the tournament made sense as we needed some exposure since we hadn't been heard from in several years. This year I am good calling it a season after the MAAC tournament. Let the kids get a break from basketball, let Marquis heal up and get back to where he was pre-injury and let them focus on school for the last two months. I believe if we do host, attendance will be very poor. Just my opinion I am close to the feeling here. Since we already took one of the lower tournaments as high as we could, I like the idea of letting the guys rest, heal and enjoy themselves but get hungry for better things next year. it's a long grueling season. I don't see the great benefits in a lower-level tourney this year, esp considering the finances.

The Vegas tournament makes little sense - taking the kids away from school for more than a week this close to the end of the semester is crazy - I'm willing to bet they (individual and team) could lose more missing class than they would possibly gain even winning the damn thing. The games will likely only be available on the Texas.Hold.Em.com web site for $19.95 or more a pop! Even our Professor of Culture would have to stretch his abilities to find worthwhile venues (unless replicas of famous sites fits his agenda for teaching moments) on the strip that would educate - the strippers would have a better shot of holding their attention, even JP's ADD would be held in check. The thoughts of JP roaming freely between contests conjures up all kinds of "hope what happens in Vegas" stays in Vegas images. Some said playing in any of the 3 non-prestigious tournaments would be great for our fan base - we can't even fill a 50 seat bus for a game in Manhattan and now fans want to travel to East BeJesus in God Knows Where State! We can't get our students into the TUC - who thinks any of them would go to Glens Falls? Depending on the draw, the newly configured ARC might still have empty seats! Let's just be thankful for a good season, let the kids focus on the academic side of their responsibilities, and let the coaches do the constantly evolving 13 ship math before heading to Churchill Downs. Wow, the hatred is real. "Hatred" is too visceral! Dislike fits better. I dislike lima beans but if served them at your house, I would eat them. I hate eggplant - no way do I eat that, no way....... ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

A source close to Siena told me that Siena will not compete in the Vegas16 due to cost. The source did not specify which tournament Siena will compete in.

You're probably correct, but I won't believe it until I can't find their name listed Sunday night. Call me doubting Thomas (at least that's part of my middle name), Just for a frame of reference, this site tries to project the NIT field. In addition they list 18 other teams that would be under consideration and Siena isn't one of them. If teams like Georgetown, Memphis, NC State, and UCLA can't even get in then Siena has no shot: bracketmatrix.com/nitWhat do they know? I'll stick with wishful hoping. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Not literary two seasons in a row, rather two in a row of the times we actually entered the cbi. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Looks like pay to play at TUC. Tuesday night. Hope they can break even. I'll show up and sit next to Tony.

So if UA choose the CBI (Rodger was hinting they may go to Vegas) and with Siena almost certainly in the CBI if both advance to the finals we could have a Siena-UA best-of-3 clash? Wow don't know how I feel about that but how sweet would it be to beat UA three times in one year? ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

For economic purposes, why would they put UA and Siena in opposite brackets. Unfortunately for scandal prone UA these days not sure the school, wants to blow a lot of money going to a new what 4th tier tourney. Nothing to do with team but school would want to, keep a low profile. Just saying you know you get a big turn out with UA Siena, why not guarantee yourself a decent payday.

Thought there are no set brackets as its pay to play? There were set brackets two years ago when Siena won it, why would the organizers change that now? It was sort of an east coast versus west coast type bracket (as best they could considering the limited number of western teams). I'm sure all the past "x" tears brackets are available at that gazelle website.

It's just not the same as beating just about any other D1 team more than once in a season. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
