If they buy games the TU will be ghost town and the ARC is too small. They should probably pass. Last run in the CBI poorly attended @ TU. Wouldn't expect any better given regular season and MAAC attendance this year. What's with Vegas is that a pay to play? . If the arc is too small it would definitely make money. 3,000 at 15 = 45000. Or a road game. Seriously I don't understand the apathy with these tournaments. You want more students to come-- what better way than to throw them a bone on campus. Chance for tv coverage in later rounds-- it keeps our name out there a little while longer.

Makes sense to me--- good recruiting tool hey play in Vegas. The lateness is great only a few teams will be left by then.

You are right, 1800. That is too small unless they charge arena prices.

Keep in mind the MAAC budget was changed; they no longer subsidize these pay events. Siena would have to fully fund any pay to play tournament. They don't have to pay if away team. IMO, third place teams in the 20th ranked conference don't get invited unless they agree to host.

They have a quality postseason resume. If the "old" NIT format was around Siena probably would be going there.

If anyone thinks more time out of classes to go to Vegas is good idea that are sadly mistaken.

I vote for NIT, but wasn't an option. What "if" (and that's a hugh IF) Iona beats Monmouth and Monmouth happens to receive an at large bid, couldn't the ncaa committee give Siena (maac's 3rd seed) the NIT selection that would have gone to Monmouth? I realize that Siena's rpi is under 100 (or close to 100). I guess it's wishful thinking on my part, but I'd rather go to NIT even if it's the final seed/entry. The Cornell, Vermont and Marist games cost us a chance at the NIT. If we won those three games and we were 24-9 we'd probably get an NIT at-large bid. Just for S&Gs can any of our numbers/rankings guys estimate what Siena's rpi would have been if they hadn't lost those 3 games?

If you give them another win say at Manhattan - 69 and probably a lock.
