Our ticket cost $8 for the FF game and the seat was for row AA. TUC ticket for Sunday is $23 for lower level and $20 for upper level. I know FF cost is low because no one attends. But the TUC is "too damn high"

Hey, thanks for the info. BTW for those who did not make the trip, FF is an embarrassment. The president should shut e D1 program down based on fans alone. No one cares obviously if he did. Take the kids out and more Siena fans than FF. A school doesn't support a program save the money shut it down.

But the TUC is "too damn high" Basic economics, supply and demand. No one cares or goes to FF BBall games so they have to offer prices to get the handful of fans to the games. I bet if FF avg'd 5-6k they'd raise the prices. Siena has avg'd 5-7k for years. Heck, Siena avg'd 5k (paid) in down years let alone the 7+k in great years. Can hardly find good seats in 6 lower bowl center sections; therefore they'd can change a higher price. That's why Siena can charge what they do and people will pay it. For every Bill K that doesn't renew their season tickets (for what ever reason, like say you can't stand the coach) there's someone willing to purchase that lower bowl seat. The net effect might be that Siena losses a few in one year but then gains it back the next (or during better years)

I understand, but it's what the market will bear. I usually have my two $10 beers or I get two $4.50 waters. I probably spent $400 on food and drink during the MAAC tourney if I attend almost all the sessions. It's my entertainment for the non-Siena games only. As for the Siena games there's no entertaining what so ever, I have to "work" as fan those games. Too busy to be entertained for them.

It's difficult to cultivate younger fans with families....i.e. perpetuate and grow the base, which is demographically important when you are charging the highest prices in the league you are in. Factoring in that our out of conference schedules have had let's just say ho hum opponents is another factor that IMHO will make it difficult to get new fannies in the seats in a dedicated manner. I'd also be very interested to find out the percentage of Alums that are staying in the Capital Distric takingvadvantage of discounted season ticket offers. I would think the Marketing Consultants would be looking at all of that. But then again, I would think the Marketing Consultant could cOlla borate with Dunkin Donuts to come up with something to replace the cup and donut.

Agree th season ticket riches vs. The retired who heads south for some time during the season. As we discussd really nd to do the math if your going to miss any games, especially with so many televised. Let you know how I make out season ticket wise. As far as other MAAC opponents how much is coating the school to hold the FF game at the arena. Couldn't have been 400 fans there.

Doesn't Siena still have the family 4 pack for $20 or $40 and throws in popcorn and drinks? They used to. I know they had flex tickets, 4 for $40. Those would appeal to families. They give schools tickets and they sometimes have 40-50 kids in a corner section. They may even have to bring parents as chaperones. They may not have family prices for the better seats but families that come occasionally are probably not going to purchase season tickets anyway. There's always options, as Big Dave would say.

I've heard rumors that Fairfield wants to go back to the Tiny Alumni Hall (which is really loud) for good for all basketball. Even their coach said it to...I've heard Alumni Hall is a relic in time.

I believe Siena's doing ok. They have at least 4K in season ticket holders, then get 500-2500 walk-up crowd.
Of course we could do better but we could also do worse.
The fans that drop season tickets are replaced (maybe not 1 for 1) but enough. Some doen years (down in wins) the season ticket holder may drop to 3000-3500, but then pick back up during better seasons. This year walk up fans had to choose between Siena, UA and some pretty good HS teams/games. If UA was down and if no standout HS teams then Siena benefits (attendance wise) even w/o having a good BBall season.

I actually like their gym for their home games. They really should play there except for a handful of games at HY until they start outgrowing the gym again.
