Listened to bits and pieces of game hoping to hear progress; listened to some of Jimmy on R W show today. Also heard a few minutes of local sportscaster Brian Cady on 1240 which has a weaker signal than 1300. Cady asked a good question : Why did Brett take Seven 3's ? it wasn't like he was on fire hitting only one. Was it as Jimmy said team didn't want to grind it out. It is harder to work the ball into the paint against a shot blocker but not impossible. Team can't expect every game to be easy like the Rider game. Jacking up 25 3's is easier than working for an in the paint shot. I hope the players and the staff can work it out.

The easiest way to come back from down double digits is to start draining some 3's. Brett took one extra attempt from 3 than he did in the wins at Iona and Rider. He just didn't happen to hit them yesterday.

Train left the station in the second half when we down 5 and Marquis missed wide open three in corner . . . we then made the stop and Kenny got fouled and made the 2 FTs . . . at that juncture Siena would have come back after being down 17 and back to a tie game . . . think air would have come out of Fairfield's ball and we would have been energized . . . after that it was all she wrote

We just shoot the ball very poorly. I know people think I'm the biggest optimist but I was very afraid of last night's game. Fairfield is hot right now and had two extra days off. Siena came off the worst kind of game a huge comeback that feel short (we might have been better losing by 20 and rest people). All of that said a few more made FT and FG and Siena still might have pulled out the game. We are a so-so road team (8-9 away from the TUC) Siena is winning their 12 MAAC games by an average of 16 points. 7 losses by 7.1 PPG. We probably should be better than 12-7 because we've won every game but one by double-digits and only the game at Monmouth we didn't have a realistic chance to win (also the only MAAC game lost by 10 or more). The MAAC is a tough league (despite the 20 conference RPI) the tournament is going to be quite a battle.

gotta say it, SOOO sick of the extra days off bullshit....every team encounters tough spots in their schedule, if siena can't handle 2 games in 3 days, how the hell will they handle 3 in 3 come tourney time? FF had two extra days off but were also missing two of their better players, what more of a handicap did Jimmy and co want?!

Everyone is in the same boat. Of course that is why the #2 seed (and #1) are important because you get an extra day if you win your Quarterfinal game. Fairfield was missing two guys that's true so that was something Siena did not take advantage of. Siena is a mediocre road team and coming off two wins on the road (Iona and Rider) no surprise they laid an egg last night.

There was no doubt the better team, players underperformed were in never never land half the time. BTW anybody know when the team did get to FF. Tuesday or Wednesday

The solution is simple. In pre-game locker room the message is,"It is now half-time fellas and we are down 20 points!!!!"

The title is confusing, what exactly did it cost the Saints? I mean we were in 3rd and after the game still in 3rd. Didn't cost us anything.
