I agree with OD being 1st Team and possible per-season POY. I'd give up POY for a MAAC Tourney Championship.
I hope Evan uses the possible snub from the 2nd Team to shine and make it at the end of the year. There's a lot of talent in the 10 this guy picked but I believe Evan is a possible 2nd Team.

Don't know if it was done intentionally or not, but thought it interesting that nine of the ten MAAC schools are represented in the two pre-season teams; only St. Peter's is missing. I think that tells us that there is a lot of talent throughout the league, which will certainly make for a very competitive season.
Also interesting to see the crowd shots used as background for the pre-season selections page. There's only one place in the MAAC where they could be from (quite a lot of gold in those pictures).

Saints22---They need to show those crowd shots to the college presidents then follow them up with lack of crowd shots from Buffalo, Trenton, Bridgeport, and Springfield.

Some head scratches there Chavaughn Lewis `1st team ahead of Erik Etherly and Derek Needham? Also Nurideen Lindsey on 1st team-- he cant play till December?

Lindsay is now cleared to play from the get-go. But he's a poor shooter and he's turnover and foul prone. Needham isn't a first teamer but Momo Jones and Etherly are certainly. |

I would be surprised if Chavaughn Lewis is not on the 1st team come the end of the season. 18/6/4, or something along those lines for him.

If he corrects that knuckle ball shot and cuts down on the TOs he should do it. He's one of if not the best defensive SF in the league in addition to being elite at getting to the FT line. He's probably the 1st alternate right now. |

Antics or not, I really like Lewis' game. I think it's a little bold putting him on a pre-season 1st team list, but he could certainly earn that honor by the end of the season.
I feel like last year's Freshman class in the MAAC was extremely strong: Lewis, Green, Hymes, Mason and Andujar were all huge contributors to their teams last year. When was the last time the MAAC had that many Freshman make such large contributions in their first season?

I abhor those show me up actions. I didn't like Alex giving the throat cut sign at Iona. But that wasn't Alexs' style. I'm sure he was fed up with their trash talking. Fran did admonish Alex though he didn't deserve it. You take only so much.
