Nowl that we are singing a happy tune, indiansaint might want to check out this article about a first world nation willing to face its gun problems www.businessinsider.com/australia-gun-control-shootings-2015-10Note the before and after chart in the middle of the page regarding what happens after laws are changed--- no need for guess work now... I admit, I didn't read the link. But I believe laws only really only work for reasonable people, people that care about others, people who have something to live for, non-criminals, etc.. There's already laws against harming others regardless how they do it or what ever the weapon. Making tougher laws with the exact types of weapons that can no longer be used or that require a more extensive background check won't necessarily work as intended, IMO, on the non-reasonable, people with nothing to lose or criminals. They'll simply obtain their weapons from illegal sources (or use a different weapon). Maybe gov't/leaders should concentrate on the cause(s) of why people snap, don't think rationally, are criminals, have nothing to lose and address that before they commit a crime in the first place. Everything else is like placing a bandage over a severed arm/leg. Maybe we need to stop the bleeding first.
