Great for the program to get that kind of person to just spend a few mins talking to the team. Parcells is someone with a lot experience and ideas that not only translate on a football field and team sports. I have heard Phil Simms say he doesn't go a day without trying to impart some sort of wisdom Parcells put on him from his days at the Giants.

Fantastic! The track sure does pay dividends! Maybe next year potion visits.

The projected starters are wearing dark green jerseys.

The projected starters are wearing dark green jerseys. Thanks! If that holds true the Saints starting 5 will be devastating against most teams. Even though the back court is small they are lightning fast and can score in bunches. A N D the frontline ... well lets just say I'd be very interested in seeing them play against Edwin, Ryan and Alex - the best front court in my memory of the program which only goes back to the mid-70s.

I highly doubt Martens is the starting SF. Poole missed practice cause of a sprained ankle. If anything, it shows that Martens is playing well enough to be in an early competition with Silas.
Martens is longer and more versatile and I would love for him to all of a sudden break out but I'm always skeptical of how efficient he'll be on offense. He's had a lot of trouble with shooting % and TOs.
If he plays well, I think that Bisping, Martens, and Silas will all split time playing with and backing up Anosike. 15-20 ish mins a piece for all of them until someone gets injured or pulls away from the rest.
Check that. It looks like Burdine is bending over behind Mitch and is wearing green. It could be a metaphor for how much arse he has to kiss to get back in Mitch's good graces.

As of right now, I'd say the guys in dark green would be the pool for the starting five. Imoh wears dark green also. My bets are on Davis starting in front of Imoh with Evan, Rak, Trenity and OD. Imoh would be the first big off the bench and its a tossup between Brett and Lionel for the next big. I don't sense anything that would say Trenity is in anyone's doghouse.

That's cute, but fact is that, early on, Trenity is playing his own ass off, and looking really good. If first game was tomorrow, he'd be the starting 3. That might change when Rob is able to come back full-time, but maybe not. Probably doesn't matter much which of them starts, and which comes off the bench. When healthy, they are both pretty good.

" when Rob is able to come back full-time, " ? Whats wrong with Rob Poole ?

Not good news that Davis might start ahead of Imoh or Gomis. While Davis might be athletic, I think he reacts too slowly to be very effective unless he's improved considerably during his year off. I was hoping that one of the newcomers (probably Imoh) would be a significant improvement over Martens. Looks like that might not be the case.

Maybe the fact that Martens is more athletic-plus-starting !! Might be better for this Saints team...especially if they intend to run with the ball more !!

no such decision has been made regarding Martens starting!!!!!!! No one has stated that the decision has been made to start anyone - the starting five for the Vermont game is a coach's decision. We are all just predicting who we currently see as filling those roles.
